hello everyone ,

I just bought a 96 TL and am not to fimilar with them . I traded my Lexus ES 300 which was well maintained since new and wondering did I make a misstake? or are the acura's great cars .. I was searching thru the forums which is great. Was a memeber of lexusownersclub.com which was a excellent place to go to when owning a lexus . One of my questions is , is the Instrument cluster (back lighting ) Servicable? meaing can the cluster be removed and new bulbs put in? If so , is hard to remove the cluster from the dash board and how hard are the bulbs to get to?

Hello.

I'm guessing you want to replace the D4 light on the cluster. This step by step posting will tell you how. Its pretty easy really. Just go gentle on the air conditioning vents.

Welcome

To be honest, the ES300 and TL were and still are excellent cars. I doubt you made a mistake trading the ES for a TL. In my opinion, its just a matter of taste and preference.

I think overall, you'll find the TL easier to work on and if taken care of properly in the past, nearly or as reliable as the ES.

Hehe, . My neighbour has an ES300, "illegal-blue" lights... His HIDs are probably around the 8,500K mark AND he has a blue housing for his headlights.

~Cheers~
