New member question :)

Hi guys i just joined this site. looks nice!.

i bought a '97 2.5L TL today!. i'm really happy.
After owning a legend i think i made a good choice.

I wanted to know if I can put 17" rims on this car?. is it a simple replacement or ill have to pay for extra mod or something??

Thank you.

Welcome to the Boards!

Simple replacement unless you want to drop it too.

I haven't dropped mine, but you can pick up Eibach Pro-Kit springs that will drop the 1.2" in the front and 1.0" in the back. Then you could get Eibach Sportline that will drop the car 1.&" front and back. I would def get wheels though before you lower the car so that you can determine how much you can lower the car so that you don't rub.

welcome to the forums.

Its simple to just get 17" wheels on (its gonna look like a donk ofcourse..lol), unless you want to drop then you may need to roll fender depending on how low you go/offset of wheels. (correct me if I am wrong here)

So you guys think 17" is too big?. I don't like huge wheels on cars, i just thought i'd get something so it fills the gap, now it looks like the car is too big for 15" wheels.

or should i just get lowering springs and stay with stock lol

No, I mean 17's are fine, make sure you get the ones with right offset. wrong offset=rubbing, mostly in back fenders.

If you getting lowering springs then you have to shed some more cash to get a nicer set of wheels that go well with lowered car..Good luck.

*waits for 2.5TL guys to chime in*(I have 3.2)

Also check photo gallery, you will get some idea what to do.

I know, I lived there for 16 years, certified Masshole here.

Speedbumps are bigger here plus the sides of the roads have more drainage dips.

I'm guessing you approach everything from an angle?
