new bumper needed

I am looking for a new front bumper... but remanufactured bumpers for our cars cost just as much as those aftermarket VIP and Skyline ones available... ~$250-$350 (upper range including S&H)

I always like to upgrade (opposed to replacing) and I need to replace my current bumper for cosmetics, but don't want to have to get sideskirts and definitely not a new rear bumper.

Does anyone know if any other bumpers fit our cars?

The 3.2 bumpers fit our cars.

I am saving for one right now.

They are on 2.5 TLs.

Then paint your side skirts and then it will look official.

Wooo sick car! The two things that I don't like about the 2.5 is the bumper and the fact that the grill and hood is not one piece. But the bumper does make the car look much better. Oh and those rims are soo nice.

So the 2.5 and the 3.2 front bumpers are not identical?

No, the 2.5s look like a guy who dipped for too many years and lost his jaw, haha!

The 3.2 bumper has the extra flare at the bottom of the bumper.

Yes.

Just the bumper, hood, and grille are different.

And the amount of lugs that are on the wheels.

Damn 4 lug.

Yup, the rims available for 4 lugs limit you. How did they decide to do that?

this is what I'm aiming for I guess..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

attached to this

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

Will I be able to keep my grille? I don't see why not...

I guess they figured upgrade to 5 lugs for the heavier engine... I'm just upset that they didn't just give 5-lugs to both models. 5-lug conversion is a long-run plan of mine... but i have so many other things to consider first

Does anyone know the answer to this? I'd hate to leave a lose-end question...

It is ~ a 1mm gap.

Not a big deal IMO.

There will be a slightly bigger gap between the bumper and the grille.

I was thinking it was maybe a bit wider? My JDM headlights stick out a bit beyond my fender and I assumed it may be from a 3.2? ...and maybe that's why it stuck out, a little bit wider for a slightly wider car... guess I was wrong.

by chance does this mean if I were to get a 3.2 hood, grille, and bumper I could fit that on my car?

The bumper, grille, and hood are the only differences. The fenders are the same.

One of the members here with a 3.2 has a 2.5 fender and it looks fine on his car.

I own a 2.5TL--but if I buy a 3.2TL hood AND grille... I can fit both of those on my car... correct?

Yes I believe so.

Then if you get the 3.2 bumper the grille will sit flush on the bumper.

Just picked up my 3.2 bumper!

They threw in the reinforcement bar and that white styrofoam shite too...

The reinforcement bar looks different and includes some sort of air-scoop?

Can I use the 3.2 reinforcement bar on my car?

Maybe, but since the rad support is different, it might not line up perfectly.

Nope, and nope.

As for the bumper cover... it fits... sorta. Apparently the grille is a bit narrower on the 3.2

Plus, the screws on the bottom of the cover don't align.... only 2 screws holding this in until i drill a hole in the bumper cover...

(took this opportunity to remove my intake resonator)

this is what happens when a truck sideswipes your front-bumper. I had actually left this site for job-hunting background-check reasons when this occured... inviting me back.

This is when I tried to slap on the same old bumper... it fit, but needed a cosmetic touch-up obviously... and as you can see my JDM headlight was shattered

This is me piecing together my JDM eyelids and whatnot with my old OEM headlight (which is non-useable considering the previous owner tried to clean the plastic with acetone... idjit! I took it apart to try and clean with that de-fog but it was useless) I decided to paint the interior of the lights black for aesthetics, and I'm also tinting the side-markers amber. I love amber vs. white.

Meanwhile, I had to order a new right-headlight considering I couldn't salvage a new one from the pieces of my two. At least I was capable of saving my eyelid and chrome lip from the smashed headlight for the one that will arrive soon. In this photo you can see the damages from when the bumper was torn off. On the right side of the car my fender/hood/headlight/bumper was bent, cracked, torn. In the process of the bumper being torn off the force of it indented the frame of the car under the left-headlight as well. Luckily no damages other than twisted metal which I hammered and suctioned back into place.

So this is me with my car as it is currently, you can see I removed my resonator. I'm still waiting on that one headlight. I had removed my window visors, power folding mirrors, forza wipers, HID foglights, LED interior lights, and speakers due to thinking I was about to junk my car.... but I loved her so much I'm piecing her back together. I will add those items back on once I fix her front.

see why I wasn't ready to post pics?

Here're some photos closer up to the remaining damage--including-visibly my new rims. I'm gonna paint the bumper last after everything else considering it doesn't look too shabby. It actually looks purposeful (2-toned) if someone doesn't notice than my side or rear aren't brown.

If you could find a little center cap for your wheels then they could look like volks.

no can do. Small caps won't fit, nothing to attach to, no clips would hold in considering the hub-thingy stick through too much... As for the larger caps which came with the rims, my lugs are too long. I've been meaning to ask... which "short" lugs could I buy to be able to put on my caps? What're the dimensions I'm looking for? I don't want to buy a set and they end up being too long to put caps on.
