My Back Window Just Exploded.

So im outside wariming my car up to go to lunch with my mom since its mother's day. But i forget my wallet in the house. So i turn the car off and run to the house. When i get back to the car, i start the car and about 3 seconds later, BOOOM!. I duck and look back. What the F#$K. mY BACK WINDOW IS COMPLETeLY CRACKED.
So I get out to look if anyone threw something..nothing. i look to see if there is a sniper, assasin or something in the trees. .nothing. Pretty weird?

Sometimes there's a mistake in the clearance of the window glass on the frame. I heard that there were some sixth gen accord sedans with this problem. It's not very widespread, but it can happen.

What do you mean by clearance in the window. Its the back window. Just exploded.

The glass is too large for the window frame. With temperature changes, either the glass will expand or the window frame will contract, putting unnecessary stress on the window.

Drastic temperature changes combined with a possibly improperly seated glass will result in a crack/shatter.

I live in southern california where the temperature has remained stable this past week AS WELL AS THE ENTIRE SPRING SEASON. I think this window is stock. But man, this really sucks. How much do u think it will cost to replace.

can i get it replaced for free through acura. It's a 95 TL, AND IVE OWNED IT FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS. It just exploded without being caused by anything. Like the weather was cool at nioght, i live in southern california, and breezy in the morning. Also, the window was in perfect condition with no cracks.Fu@k this problem.

If you have comprehensive insurance, they will cover it. Just pay the deductible. Either that, or you can take it to Acura and bitch about it. They won't replace it for free but they may do it at a discount as a goodwill gesture.
