I recently bought a 96 acura tl 2.5 prem.
Anyways, Ive done a lot of work on it lately mostly preventive maintenance. Ive got it running very nicely now.

But cruise control as well as my side view mirrors dont work. Ive checked all fuses and they are good.

The panel thats in my 2.5 has a button for TCS and from what someone told me on this forum the 2.5 never had TCS only 3.2

Next to my shifter I do not have any additional buttons and im pretty sure the 3.2 had the fog light on the shifter trim?

So do you think it is possible that somone put a 3.2 trim panel on this 2.5?

The only button that works on my panel is the moonroof button. Cruise and power mirrors dont work and of course the TCS button does nothing.

I pulled the panel and the connectors are all connected back there to the switches.

On the 2.5 shouldn't the FOG light switch be where the TCS switch is on the 3.2?

Im thinking of possibly buying a used panel with the fog light switch instead of TCS somewhere and trying it out. Ive seen a few on Ebay for a decent price. I just dont want to spend the money if im not correct.

 

as far as I know the 2.5 wasnt available with TCS at all. I would assume that someone put a 3.2 peice in their like you suggested. And yes you are correct about the fog light swith placement in the 2.5 thats where it should be. I would try the proper panel from Ebay or something and give it a shot.

 

That might be your problem, but then again it might not be. Give it a try. I dont know why the previous owner would switch that out for. Too bad I don't have that extra panel. What I do have is an extra center console woodgrain trim piece and both rear woodgrain power window switches.

 

ok guys thanks for the replies. Im gonna go try that panel switch sometime in the near future.

For now I can go without cruise control, but when i do some long distance state crossings im going to need it.
