Mesh screen behind grill?

I was just wondering if anyone here has done it, putting some mesh behind the lower part of the grill, between the bumper lights.

The picture shows how well you can see the |-|-|-|-| between the lights on the lighter colors, but darker colors like mine make it hard to tell.

BTW: I have the clear corners back in, I decided that I liked them better in the end.

Yeah, it sounds sort of old school, but I'd really like to find a way to make that part of the car stand out instead of being hidden in the shadows.

I'll definitely be doing it when I get a new bumper this week.

Actually, I have done this to our Odyssey a few months ago. I frequent the Odyseey board too and some of the new '05 Odyssey owners were having problems with the A/C. It turned out the rocks and stones on the highway poked a hole in the A/C condenser and needed to have them replaced so I figured I'd install a mesh screen just to be safe. Here're some pics:

This pic is quite large because you couldn't see it when it is resized.

It's painted black. I bought gutter guards from Home Depot for $2 so it's an extremely cheap mod.

Done it as soon as I got my 3.2. Then the CRV followed. Helps to keep the gunk out too, and who does not want a $5 upgrade?

This is what my car looked like. It had the mesh on the outside of the lower opening..

I took it off and sold it to someone on here, don't remember who though.

I can post instructions if anyone wants them.

its is a pain in the a$$ to do. i remember when i did my grille it took like 4 hours and about 5 bandaids. the home depot thing kept on cutting me. Also make sure if you do do this mod too remove ALL the oil on the metal and spary it well. Mine has rusted since and Ive been too lazy to remove it and respray it.

Not my car anyways..LOL

Ok i got to stop this bitterness

Welp. I got my car back from the body shop with a new bumper and hood repairs yesterday so I went to Home Depot and bought a mesh screen today. I painted it black. I then took the front bumper off, I was done within 30 minutes including removing and replacing the bumper. It looks badass!! I love it!! I'll take some pics tomorrow after a car wash.

The best $1.27 mod I've ever done!!

Here's the result:

I intentionally turned the flash on because the pics I took without the flash couldn't show the mesh grill at all. That tells you how stealthy yet functional the mod is. :p
