Made progress on LED project... (pix)

I did the climate control and the cluster so far. I also made the blinkers in the cluster LEDs but I forgot to take pics. I still have to do the dimmer switch, foglight switch, mirror switch, cruise switch, ashtray, cigarette lighter, & shift plate. Those will be done this week for sure. These LEDs are alot brighter in person and the pics do no justice whatsoever.

Its pretty hard. You have to fit LEDs into the factory clips that hold the regular bulbs plus solder a resistor in place. Not fun to do.

Damn. Looks nice! Did you change all the bulbs in your car too? Like the map light, side door lights, and license plate light? If you haven't you should, it gives your car a more cleaner and luxury look to it. I spent no more than a 100 doing all mines.

OK. This is NOT easy to explain but I'll try. I still havent found a way to change the climate control display or the clock YET. I will keep you posted. The bulbs that light up the cluster are just LED based 194/168 bulbs. You can get those from autolites.net or LEDtronics.com. (The LEDtronics ones are much better) There are 5 of those. You also have to change the bulbs on top of the cluster that light up the needles to LEDs. You can also change the blinker bulbs. The climate control and switches are hard to do. You have to modify the factory clip that holds the bulb to hold LEDs. Its pretty annoying to do. Do a search on LEDs posted by Nate for more info on this. BTW, use 1/4 watt 470 ohm resistors on all these LEDs.

Cluster:
5 194/168 based LEDs (Numbers)
2 5mm LEDs (Needles)
2 74 based LEDs (Blinkers)

Climate Control
4 5mm LEDs
2 3mm LEDs

Ashtray
1 74 based LED

Cig. Lighter
1 74 based LED

Shifter plate
You can use 1 74 based LED but it doesnt light up the hole thing. I modified a 74 based socket like the ones the blinker bulbs use and mounted a 5mm LED in there. It works much better but its up to you. If you get a 74 based LED all you have to do is plug it in.

Mirror switch
1 3mm LED

Dimmer switch
1 3mm LED

Cruise Control
2 3mm LEDs

Fog light switch
2 3mm LEDs

Sites for parts:
LEDtronics.com
3mm LEDs - Part No. L121CB1K-3.5Vf ($6.00 x8)
5mm LEDs - Part No. L201CB1K-3.5Vf ($8.00 x6 or x7)*
74 based LED - Part No. WF150-0PB-014V ($9.50 x4 or x5)*

*This depends on how you plan on doing the shift plate. You can use either LED but the 5mm needs to be modified.

Autolites.net
3 packs of 194/168 blue LEDs ($16.50 x 3)

Good luck! I would order a few extra LEDs. I managed to blow 1 out by accident so be careful.

I actually got most of my bulbs from ebay. Just try to look for a good bid. I'm using polargs for over a year now and the hyper white color is still as bright as before.
