took it to the dealer...bltching of how the car shifts smooth sometimes and like shlt the next. i have had the tranny serviced so they say they are going to replace it for the low low price of 3500.00. i bet the extended warranty co. is pissed. i advise all acura extended warranty holders to try and get a new tranny. my car has 82k on it, motor is bullet proof but honda trannys suk ass. cant wait to see how it drives when i get it back...

you're lucky you've got the extended warranty. i don't have the warranty and I have 169,779 miles. i've noticed a degrade in transmission smoothness after 120k. i'm either gonna get a new trans. or just trade her in when i have the money. too bad the warranty won't pay for a Legend GS manual tranny conversion huh. well good with the new tranny dbox

My tranny shifts like sh*t also. It seems to shift smooth if I don't allow the RPM's to exceed 3500. If it shifts right at 4000, the engine revs as if it doesn't know what gear to go to next. If I floor the pedal when the car is in 4th gear, it aslo revs and jerks hard as hell. I going to get of this car for sure! Forget replacing the tranny. The car only values at 6500 bucks!

NebTL, what year is your ride and why the bloodclot is it only worth 6500. anyway, Im assuming one can only do the Legend GS manual tranny with the 3.2's, and not the 2.5's.... anyone out there can confirm??

yes the Legend GS manual only fits the 3.2. if you got a 2.5, get the 5spd manual tranny from the vigor.

naka: you said you have 169k on your car??!?! HOLY!! lol man, you travel in that car or something? what year is your car??? mines a 97 and i only have 49k! im about to reach the end of my warranty. by the way.... do we all get that EXTENDED warranty thingy?? or do we have to pay more for that?

A friend told me that his mechanic has a TL with siezed up cam shaft. HE is having a hard time finding a replacement from a salvaged TL because all of them are siezed as well. (Advise is to Change oil regularly). Has anyone else heard the same kind of rumors concerning the inline 5

i never race and yes i have a 3.2. i have had it in d3 b4 but only when i went to far back and missed d4 because i wasnt paying attention. i never put the car in neutral at a stop. i drive the car fast but i dont floor it. only realy drive fast on the fway. yea the car is at john eagle.

my car is a 96'. i bought it with 120k+ miles. i have no/bad credit(only 19 at the time) so i didn't really didn't have a choice on where to purchase my ride. now i'm saving up for a engine & tranny swap or a new car.

My 97 3.2TL had the transmission replaced last month at 84,000 kilometers (Canada) because of hash shifting from 1st to 2nd and the replacement is worse than my original because it slips in reverse and flares up 1,000 rpms when manually shifting from 3rd to 4th. Acura is replacing it again under warranty next week
