Looking at a 96 3.2TL. Need expert advice.
I'm an experienced 2nd gen legend owner, and i've been browsing for a 4 door now that I've got a baby on the way (sadly the 2dr coupe won't cut it).
I found a somewhat local 3.2TL and wanted to ask some questions just like any other noob would
Heres the story on the car:
>96 3.2TL Premium - Dark Green - Tan Leather
>136k miles
>Everything works according to him
>Check engine light on due to O2 sensor on left side of motor
>Needs new tires badly - Its sitting on the spare right now with the original wheel in the trunk.
>Has about 10 dings on hood and trunk due to hail
>It needs a really good detailing - wash, clay, wash, wax, etc etc (my opinion, but he seemed to disagree)
>He said he had the timing belt done a month ago by a friend
>Carfaxed it, and he is the 8th! owner, details below:
SO, he tells me it runs fine, it looks ok (aside from an acura sticker on the hood that will be removed immediately) and checks out to have a clear and clean title even though it has been passed around more than i'd like.
So here's some not so great quality photos that he sent over to me:

Just wanted to get your guys' opinion on this car. He was asking $4k, and i got him down to $3500 and no lower.
Thanks in advance. And if i get this car, you'll be seeing plenty of me around here

first thing i'd do, which i do every time i get a used car, is have your mechanic do a full inspection over it. considering he's the 8th owner (wow), he may have taken care of it but the other 7 may not have. the inspection usually runs around $300-$400 depending where you go and how much they actually inspect but that's nothing in comparison to what you could potentially end up paying to fix it if there's an unknown problem when you get the car.

Its 4 hours away from me, I can't really have MY mechanic look at it. Any other suggestions? Its a lot cheaper than many i've looked at. He said he went down that low becuase of the hail damage, the need of tires asap, a pressure area on the front bumper (you can see it in the pics), and the O2 sensor/check engine light.

I would be concerned that it really cheap. There is a reason he is selling it for so cheap and its probably not to give you a great deal. I got a descent deal on mine and test drove it and the person had the service reciepts and everything but once i got it had to do the 105k service / new tires/ timing belt and shit pissed me off.
If its TOO good to be true it probably is.... and the fact that there were 4 owners in less then a year should tell YOU that... each owner prob thought it was a great deal and then once they bought it realized why it was so... if you cant get it checked thoroughly i wouldnt get it.. theres gotta be mechanics near the car right? just dont go to a guy HE recommends
good luck

You have to look at the underside for oil leaks and stuff.....just need to make sure you will not drop $$ for a new tranny, rear main seal, gaskets and all. AC working? No smoke coming out the rear? No weird noises? Shocks, suspension feel solid still? Vibration? Good luck!
