Life is good....

A couple of days ago I got pulled over and NAILED by the boys in blue....

Running a red light : $125.00

Speeding : $130.00

Driving with undue care and attention : $150.00

Getting a phone call from the cop the next day telling me to tear up the ticket because he wrote the wrong year on the Payment Due Date......priceless......

nah... it's an arbitrary thing. If they get you for more than one thing, if they're in a bad mood, etc. It's just one of those bull**** charges they can tack on if they feel like it. They claim that if you violate more than one traffic law at the same time you qualify for it.

The other popular one in winter is "Driving too fast for road conditions". If the roads are really icy, even if you're driving well below the speed limit, if you're driving through an intersection when the light changes and you hit the brakes and skid through sideways, they can tag you if they want.

Seems to be a pattern...

I just talked to a buddy of mine, and he got pulled over two days ago for speeding (slightly). It wouldn't have been a huge fine, since he was only going a few KM over the limit. Just after the cop walked up to his car he got a call on the radio to respond to an emergency. All he said was that Rick was extremely lucky, have a nice day and SLOW DOWN!

Another one just barely made it with his chequing account intact...
