So after all this time nobody ever decided to buy any sort of kit. I’ve been trying to convince my g/f to buy me at least one part of it for X-mas but I’m not even sure what I want so I can’t tell her how much it’ll cost. The big thing that worries me is the kits being discontinued. What if all these companies back out like Mugen did and leave us with no options? Anyway, I’ve been considering it again for the 3rd time over the past year and I think I should just do it even though my current stereo project is still incomplete, but I only need a capacitor, alternator & some accessories. I already have all the major components and as long as its done after winter, I don’t care. Back to kits, what have you guys decided is the nicest kit for our car? I think the Value is nice but too much money. I don’t want to spend a fortune. This is what I think would look good but I’m worried they all won’t match together.

Front: Azect lip 100%. $400

Sides: This is a problem. Either the Value side which cost $550, or the JT Autostyle sides Neo has which I don’t know the price of. $300 maybe?

Rear: Skipper or Value. The Skipper is only $285 and the Value is about $550. I like them both equally so I think I’d rather save money and get the Skipper.

Please share your opinions. I’m not trying to setup a group buy and I don’t know when this is going to happen, but it probably will be after X-mas since my B-day is in January and thats more goodies for me.

96TL: you and i both know ive been down for a kit group buy anyday! in the past, ive been trying to get people who are interested to post and let me know whose in and whose not. this topic has been dead for a long time LOL well, this is the case for me...during when school is in session, im able to buy the kit but around the holidays or in the summer....when school starts, thast when i back out b/c of school tuition and bills. so im down whenever i have the money..

as for lips, since ive been studying pictures of kits for our cars...i noticed that the skipper lip is on a 3.2 so i doubt that will fit 2.5's... i say this because in azect, has diff item numbers for 3.2 and 2.5 so i was thinking...lips for each model is different. i REALLYYYYY love the skipper lip!! but if it dont fit 2.5, i GUESS ill settle for azect

sides, ill prob get the jt auto style ones.. but as neo said, he didn't get the sides that was pictured on the 1st gen TL, he got the sides made for the acura CL...and had them custom made it to fit our cars.

back, skipper since its the cheapest!

I'm not trying to waste anyone's time here but I just want to make it clear that I can't buy this right now. Its gonna be around X-mas time. Like I said, my g/f is hopefully gonna buy me the Skipper rear and I get my X-mas bonus which will help a lot. Unx979 also agrees with X-mas time. What do you think? I promise you I will not back out but remember, X-mas time we are ordering something from ValueTL! Save up money if you can. This has been a long time coming. Last time we attempted this I came sooo close to buying it, but somehow got sidetracked with something else, I don't even remember what, and completely let it die.

I've pretty much decided that I want the Azect front, Value sides & Skipper rear. Knowing me, I might change my mind anytime on what I want but I WILL get something. That setup should look nice as long as the bottoms match up. The complete Value Kit would be nice but I can't spend $2000 and I don't like the front too much anyway. I want to spend about $1500. What I want comes out to $1695 but maybe it'll be a little less if we all buy this together. Expect to see my car with a full kit in January/February. I forgot to mention, another reason I didn't want to do this is because my body guy is so friggin expensive and I didn't want to spend so much. I just had my Inspire folding mirrors painted by some guy my friend knows that does mostly body kits on a lot of Civics and Accords and does nice work for fair prices. He did my mirror shells for $100 while my normal guy wanted $200 and they came out great. I completely disassembled the mirrors myself and brought him the shells only though. My original body guy wanted $300 if he had to take them apart, and $200 if I did!

BTW, whoever else wants to join just post in this topic and I'll save it so we can all contact each other in late December, early January. Lets make this work this time! C'mon guys!

i was wondering if you guys knew how much it would cost to ship a front lip to sounthern cali??

because i was thinking of putting the front skipper lip on my 2.5 but i was afraid that it might cost too much to ship it. oh yea ... and i heard that the front skipper lip doesnt fit the 2.5 ... is that true?
cuz i was thinking of gettin the front skipper lip and a JT autostyle side and back...

so yea my question is how much would shipping the front lip to southern cali....... and if the skipper lip would fit a 1997 2.5tl?

I would say maybe $125? ValueTL just e-mailed me and said its $415 to ship a full kit to Brooklyn, NY and this stuff is going from Japan to Hawaii, then to the US. NY is a lot farther than Cali.

i THINK its 415 bucks...that includes the price to ship from japan to hawaii and to hawaii to...probably anywhere in the US. i am not sure. mike said he never said he'd charge us 700 bucks for shipping, so scratch that out of your mind guys/girls!! its cheaper!!

i think someone on the other site said they paid 415 for shipping for a whole COMPLETE kit (front, back, sides).
