Junkyard diving...

So it was 74* today and I decided to go to Pic A Part to just browse the yard. I have never seen a 2nd TL there just loads of Legends and a rare Vigor or 2. Today was a white 2nd gen 3.2 with....

snagged all door panels, lower trim plastics, and console. need to go back for seats and possibly dash but it has a blown airbag. I wonder if the airbag from another model will fit...

Great, definitely a rare find. So you got all the door wood panels and stuff?

You can always spray paint the airbag.

It was only missing the driver side door switch/grain panel

the seats weren't to bad but I wasn't sure how the back seat comes out.... or all the dash bolt locations...

and the carpet wasn't great so I may try to find another one.

Not sure about the bolts on the dash, but the rear seats are pretty easy to take out. Just feel for three or four bolts in between the seat bottom and back where the belt latches are and remove the bolts. Remove the bottom first, then the back. Indeed it's a rare color, if they are in good condition take them!

yeh the back esp was good shape. fronts not so bad. the car had like 187K miles on it and the body was CLEAN. the front end was taken off. I have the 2.5 and didn't realize the 3.2 had Heated side mirrors and TCS. I snagged the mirrors as well but would love heated seats in the 2.5.

Maybe there's a way to wire the heated seat... I mean you took the console with the switches on them already, maybe removing the wiring harness from the junked car and put it in your car if it works that way??

I wonder how hard it will be to take out the dash and the whole harness. I clipped a few connectors today but just want to run power to the seats and mirrors...

I dont remember if the procedures to removing the dash was there or not, but try searching the diy blower motor thread. I remember seeing pictures of the whole dash out of he car in order for him to get to the blower motor.

You have to remove the dash to get the blower motor out.

got the rear seat, front seats, and rear shelf tray. that rear tray was like glued at the very edge of the glass it seams and was a pain to pull out! the fronts have some stress cracks but the rear is nice shape. my tan fronts have 6" holes in the bolsters so they needed to be changed out. almost have black interior! Probably will leave the headliner tan. just need carpet, mats, and go back for the dash!
