So I just purchased the JDM Inspire 3rd brake light and it came with this extended wiring harness that I would like to know a little about. Has anyone done this install?
I really want to know how it lights in Japan? Does it come on and stay on with the lights/ taillights? thats what I am assuming. Can someone confirm? I know I can swap out the 3rd brake lights and just plug the bulb back in, but I do not want the "Inspire" logo to only come on when I hit the brakes. I want it to light at all times the lights are turned on
Also I am pretty sure that I have the whole wiring harness figured out as far as plug and play, except for one 3-pin plug that I can not find a place for.
I have a picture that I took from google that shows the 3rd brake and also the 3-pin plug that I have no idea about


That little white-ish gray 3-pin
It has:
Red/ black stripe
Green/ white stripe
Solid black

Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Any how to's or links to a how to would be great

I'm pretty sure it runs down to the taillight area and plugs in one of those plugs.

Ill have to get pictures of the harness. there are 2 plugs that run down to the taillights that I have figured out already...and that little plug is on the opposite side of the harness. not close to the taillight area

If you've got Inspire tails, then you should know that most people had to switch the harness from left to right, so maybe it would reach then? I know I have the plug for the JDM wing with the green LED position lamps on the US driver side.

I installed mine today. I have it wired so that the light on my spoiler and the light on my "Inspire" brake light come on when I press the brake pedal.
If all you want is to replace your existing third brake light with this one it is SUPER simple. Just twist the bulb socket out of your existing brake light. Remove the 2 screws that are holding your existing red third brake light housing in place and remove the housing itself. Insert the Inspire brake housing it its place, screw it back in and twist the bulb back in its place. Probably will take 3 minutes to complete.
I can post pics tomorrow morning if you dont know how to remove the existing break light. I can also show you how to route it so that both your spoiler and your Inspire light will light up when you push the brakes if thats how you want it set up.

You can use all your existing wiring that is in the car. You will not have to change a single thing. You dont need anything but the Inspire housing itself. None of the wires that came with it are necessary.

Whoops, I wasn't paying attention at all when I read this. Had quite a few beers last night lol. Sorry everybody haha.
I have the service manual for our cars ill see if there is a wiring diagram or something that might help.
