Installing Aftermarket HU problem

I just bough a kenwood head unit to replace my old aftermarket one, but after wiring everything correctly and triple checked it, it won't come on. I tested the power and ground connections and they both checked out, and I can even insert/eject a CD, but nothing comes on the display. Any help would be appreciated.

you're missing another connection somewhere or you have a defective head unit

Yeah the fuses are good and there are no more wires to connect, but I think I will just throw it all at Best Buy and see what they can do with it.

how did u check the power and ground??? with a meter??? if you can insert and eject the CD , your issue is not coming from the power... does the CD actually play???it could simply be a defective unit...

I checked it with a simple 12v light bulb, but the CD does not play and there are no lights on what so ever, so i guess it may be defective . . .

I bought it at Best Buy, ill take it to best buy tomorrow and maybe I just overlooked a simple mistake 3 times, or its defective, but luckily the guy gave me an "Install it here" sticker to put on what looks like an unopened box, so it'll be free.

Check the fuse box under the hood. I was hooking up one of my buds cd player in his 2.5 and it wouldn't work when pluged up because of a blown fuse.

Check your ignition power. Most deck requires 2 powers. 1 is the constant power the other is the ignition power. Both have to be on for the deck to work

I vote for defective unit a KSuchdeve suggested. Best Buy = Worst Buy. You hear about their intranet mirror of their website with different prices?

~Cheers~

Well actually ended up not being defective, and I already had the ignition and constant power hooked up, but there was a problem with how my first aftermarket HU was installed (btw was also done by best buy) so the guy fixed it and didnt give many details about the problem.

I went to Best Buy when I was looking for speakers and a radio and when they didn't even ask me if I needed any help I was like F you. So then I went to Circuit City and then they were some nice people. They helped me with all needs and questions. Thanks Circuit City!!..lol
