ignition/radio problem
Ok I'm having an ignition/radio problem.
Issues.
1. For some reason my radio has stayed on twice when i turned the car off and took the key out.
2. Radio sometimes doesn't save settings
3. Radio twice turned off while i was driving then popped back on.
4. I had the ground (TV ground) grounded to the ABS metal frame. A few times the abs light would come on and go off, and the radio would cut out.
5. I tried to start the car but it didnt turn over (Dead starter feel) But next try started up.
Anyone have answers?

4. you going to have to find out the code for the abs, by using a paper clip and hook it to the service connector under the glove department.
5. it might be starter, do you hear a loud click ,is the battery ok? alternator

Ever since i took the ground off the abs frame i haven't had the light come on.
Battery fine, starter fine, alternator fine.
I think theres a short in the ignition wire or low volt. 12v wire.
Given the factor the radio loses the settings, meaning power was cut off.

paint remover???
try 120 grit sandpaper or an emory board for filing your fingernails-
shiny bare metal must be exposed on the connector and the frame.
Check around inside the trunk- there is a ground wire gets loose back there on gen2 cars with stereo mods

Guys,
I noticed that Acura doesn't use star washers on ground connections. You can get them at any hardware/home improvement store or Autozone, etc. GM and FORD use them wherever there is a ground connection because it makes a good clean connection to the wire end and cuts through the paint to the metal below without causing a big rust spot. I'm going to use them on mine and see if it helps my ABS light and false rear tail light alarm. I'm also going to add grounds between the engine and the body. When I replace/repair the starter I add one from the starter case to the negative side of the battery so that the starter has a direct ground connection and not through the aluminum engine block. Copper is better that aluminum for a connection.
I am adding a cd changer in the trunk and pulled a ground up to the radio.
Good grounds and fiber are good for your car and you. When they(cars) start getting older, grounds get corroded, and hoses get weak with vacuum leaks. Yopu use a spray bottle with water under the hood and wait for the rpm's to change when it finds a vacuum leak. The engine will slow down.
My 96 Acura TL is the newest car in the driveway and my daily driver. It's good. I'll make it better.
