I am a bit of an idiot! i bought a command start with an aux controll and was going to use it for a trunk release...... didnt think that the trunk is manual!! anywhoo, i was wondering if anyone has any good idea's what to use the aux for, can i use it to roll down or up the windows? or maybe making the trunk eletronic.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks

 

You can put in an actuator, to pop open the trunk. I'm thinking about putting one in and shaving the trunk.

 

you can use it to pop trunk or to roll down windows when u crank. Its up to you, I think trunk pop would make more sense tho. My alarm has like 4 aux's so I can do just about everything

 

What kind of alarm does everyone have here? I'm plannin on getting one at the end of this month with remote start and possibly trunk pop....wut brand would you guys suggest and at wut cost?

 

I have an audiovox aps996, paid $170 for it and installed it myself. I like it, works well, havent had any problems. Most people however tend to prefer cliffords and other DEI products.

 

i have a karr alarm system that came with the car when i got it off the used car dealer lot somewhere...
it has a lifetime warranty at the dealer so woohoo.... but the wierd thing is that the panic button or the other button that says trunk doesnt work... only arms and disarms... any1 got ne idea on wahts wrong?

 

Probably the panic and trunk are options that weren't installed...

 

i got some crappy excalibur thingy on mine, that came on the car when my parents (people who had car beofre me) bought it. Its got this damn passive arming thing on it and everytime i shut the front door in 30 seconds it arms, it doesnt lock ne thing just turns on the alarm, does ne one know how to disarm this it bugs the hell out of me

 

i got crimestopper for over two years and i just put in the trunk solenoid... now the trunk pops like a champ...

 

You need the programming instructions, does excalibur have a website or something?

 

I got the Aladdin 2000. Bought it off ebay for like 160 and it came with a 2 year warranty. It has auto start and a two way pager so this might be something you are looking for.
