Yes, you must write something up about that. It definitely is unique as I have not seen any 1st gen TL's with smoked headlights. I want to see daytime pics too!

So what do you do when it's time to get the car inspected? Surely that won't pass.

Maybe I'm just old, but it seems unwise to mess with anything that inhibits both your visibility as well as the ability to be seen by others.

It does look unique though.

the paint is a transparent tint. light is still going to go through them fairly well, it'd be different if the paint was just a solid black but in this case, it's a non-issue.

Daytime pics .....And i ordered the film from www.lamin-x.com and its a thick tint film it goes on the outside of the light and since they dont make pre-cut film for our car i had to measure the taillights/headlights/bumperlights on the car and when i got it, it came with instructions its pretty simple and the place i called to install it was charging me 60 bucks so me and my dad put it on and it came out pretty well, u should also use a heatgun that works and the light does shine through the film its transparent. feel free 2 ask questions hope u like the daytime pics...

It all depends where you live. In florida, we don't go through inspection. I think inspections are only a northern thing. My brother lives up in Jersey and he says tints/lowering/and exhausts are illegal. Like the exhaust has to be a certain decibal in order to be street legal up there.

The car looks amazing but the headlights are little too dark for me. I'd rather have smoked instead of blacked

yeah, i live in jersey and you wouldnt make it past the first cop you saw with that shit

the tailights you could but def not those headlights. its like those covers that were popular in the early 90's and not only that there is NOT a single state that you would be able to go through inspection

thats personally not my taste but if you like it then you shouldn't rely on what other people think

again personally, i like my JDM-style headlights

scale of 1-10 how hard? I wanted to tint my taillights but thought about going the spray on method. Does anyone know if you can rent a heatgun or how much they cost?

You can rent a heat gun from Home Depot. i think thast you can get it from Lowe's as well, but I KNOW that you can get it from the Home Depot. I almost rented one myself a while back when I had a dent in my rear bumper. I was going to try and fix it myself for cheap, but I got a new bumnoer so it didn't matter any more.
