How often do you change battery?

How often do you change your battery? For the past 16 years I have changed my battery every three years. My current battery is 4 years old. I realize that changing it every 3 or 4 years is probably wasteful (I have never had a battery problem).

I have always used Die Hard Gold batteries.

Die hards do that - good thing you replace before they go
Most batteries last 3-4 years- doesnt matter how many months warranty it has
These are high electrical demand cars and a good battery makes it run at its peak

I change them once every two months or so, sometimes I make it to 6 months. I'm not kidding, either.

Now now, that's only recently, haha. I change them so often because I'll see some new one that's a bit stronger, or lighter, or if I just feel like changing something, I'll swap it. I'm running two batteries at the moment, the 6-cell one and a standard one. It's the only way I can get home, hehe.

~Cheers~

The obvious answer to how often is: every time it dies I replace the battery

Or as Stephen Colbert said:
When my car runs out of gas,
I buy a NEW one

I dont want to drive a quitter!!

Alot of people do that for sound systems. I do that so the car will start, haha. Fixed now, though.

I have had my 98 3.2 for about 6 years now & I have had to put 2 new batteries in it, not counting one that was bad (only lasted like 6 mths...). I am thinking about putting a high-quality battery like an Interstate or something like that if I have to replace again. I have 256k miles on my 3.2.

I haven't priced an interstate battery yet. I just looked at interstate's website, and they have the 1998 3.2 TL battery priced between $82-$106.

Try Costco, Kirkland brand, made by Johnson Controls. Great battery!

How do install two batteries in your car? I want to do that because my battery dies quickly for some reason. It is a good battery, but my car keeps on draining it for some reason, therefore I really don't change my battery too much, just jump start it every so often.

Jump starting it often is killing the battery! You need a battery isolator and a spec battery box to safely and legally have it in your trunk. Mine was only temporary so I didn't get the box. I was planning on it, but NHRA-legal boxes are expensive...

Hmmm interesting... but before my battery would always die out and I did not jump start it back up. I would usually go to autozone and have them recharge it back up and when they check to see if it was good they said yea. I dunno, it is just something that is draining my battery dry if I don't drive it for more than a day.... any tips?
