How to clean Engine Bay
My "New" 96TL
Transmission flush and filter change- DONE
Breaks and Rotors DONE
Coolant,air filter, oil filter DONE
Wiper and Tailight gasket DONE
ENGINE BAY CLEANING I NEED HELP HERE
Can someone please show me how to clean a dirty 96TL engine Bay. Information on Cleaner to be used and any precautions will be very much appreciated!

use nothing remotely flammable; covere the electrical stuff if you are going to spray any water in there; make sure all your caps are on tight so nothing gets in there that shouldn't.
i know those sound easy to think of....but they are important. i'm not sure on what products to use. i used armorall just on the hoses and what not...some of the black plastics. heh, hope that's not flammable!

I used this gunk engine degreaser stuff that you just spray on and then rinse off. Cover all the electric stuff then use armorall on the hoses and plastic. That what i did just before updating my cardoman page and it looked real nice afterwards.

You can take a power washer to an engine bay as long as you let everything dry before trying to start the car. We used to do it all the time when I detailed cars at a chevy dealership. Almost all electrical connections use dielectric grease, so water won't really affect them if it isn't a direct hit. As long as everything is connected tight you're fine.
