I got a 96TL 3.2 having window problem, when you roll down the windows it scratching it. Anyone has same issue? suggestions?

 

i had squeaky noise before when they move up and down, especially when it's raining or after I washed my car. I told the guys at the dealer when I have my car in for oilchange, they fixed it. No more problem.

 

I have the same problem, when I take it to Park Ave I'm going to have them take a look at it. I think I read a post about the felt on the window track being worn down.

 

how did they fix it do you know? did the dealer say they had a lot of those problems with the 1st gens? did you have to pay them?

 

i don't know about squeeky windows but let me just give you this advice.........never close your door while the window is half way down. When you slam your door, make sure the window is rolled all the way up or all the way down....never leave it half way! trust me on this one...i went through hell...

 

No, they didn't charge me to fix that problem. When I told the guy, it seems that he's familiar with the problem. He didn't tell me that is a common problem to the first gen tl, but it does look like it to me. The problem is fixed. Well, you know the dealer, they won't tell me what they did to fix the problem, plus i didn't care much as long as they fixed it without charging me.

 

THIS IS ABOUT THE WINDOW SCRATCHING

IT HAPPENED TO ME PROBABLY LAST SUMMER AND I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRENTY STILL. SO I GOT 2 NEW WINDOWS AND THIS ADAPTER THING. THEY DID TELL ME IF I DID I WINDOW TINT ON THAT IT WOULDNT BE COVERED BY WARRENTY, WHAT WAS FUNNY THO IS THAT THEY TRIED CHARGING ME HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR THE WINDOWS AND ADAPTORS BUT MY DAD HAD THEM CHECK WARRENTY JUST FOR THE HELL OF IT AND GUESS WHAT, IT STILL WAS UNDER IT, SO ALWAYS CHECK... HOPEFULLY I AM OF SOME HELP

Wow the windows for your 96 was still under waranty..that's great I'm going to Park Ave dealer on Monday I will ask them about it. thanks for the info

 

Damn, everybody has window problems. (including me) What was Acura thinking when they designed them.

 

same sheat with the same car. it was a recal but acura will onli fix it if ur still under factory warranty which we are not so they will clean it for u for free. i kno john eagle will. i feel u tho i hate it 2. windows r slow as hell. front neway back wrk fine

 

yeah i had the same problem.. i just recently got my 96 2.5 tl from the local dealership and the passenger side back window mad a screeching noise everytime it went up.. so i told them to fix it before i took it home.. the salesman told me it just "needed to be greased up"
