HELP A/C not blowing cold!!

It doesn't sound like the compressor is engaging at all. Was blowing cold while wife was driving and she said it just turned into hot air. Any ideas to make sure dianogistic was right and if anyone else has problems with a/c on a 96 2.5 or 3.2?? thanks
p.s. anyone know a dealer that we can get discounts??

Well, there are 2 main things it could be. Either there is a leak in your system, or the compressor is bad. Bring it to your local mechanic and have him put the freon with the dye in it to see if your system is leaking. If not, then have them check the clutch on the A/C compressor. If that is shot, then the compressor might need replacement. Hondas are generally cheap, $400-$500.

well the system is blowing hard like normal its just hot air.i checked all fuses already none are blown. i bought a can of R34A refill can with gauge. i put it on car, turned car on, turned a/c and gauge read overfilled like the compressor wasnt kicking on at all.

well i believe our cars use R12 so you should have had the lines checked for a leak before you put in R134a because r134a is smaller then r12 so it would get through the leaks easier then R12.
