headlight wire burned up and melted!!

I noticed my driver headlight not working, so I got a new bulb to change it out. When I pulled the wire it was melted and fell off the end of the bulb. I tried the bulb in the passenger side and the bulb is fine. Now I need to replace the bulb connector. Has this happened to anyone else or idea why it would toast itself?

hey.. did you have aftermarket hyper white bulbs? some of those atfermarket bulbs tend to melt the sockets.. ive had that happen to me in the past.. just go to a pep boys or autozone for the h4 socket.. it runs around 3-5 bucks each..

Hmm so they sell the end connector at autozone? so all i need to do is take the palstic shroud off and replace it, that easy? The bulb is just a upgraded buld I bought at autozone. So I have to go back to get something to fix a problem with a bulb i originally got from them? how ironic!!

what kind of bulb was it from autozone? most of the ones they sell shouldnt melt your wiring harness.

Had the problem on my Integra when i bought the higher wattage bulbs (the multi-colour blue ones that were the first rage), but after I replaced the harness and switched to super whites of normal wattage everything was fine. Nothing compares to the HID's I've got now though. Just amazing how nice they look.

In all honesty, how hard was the HID conversion? I'd LOVE to do it, but I dont know if I'd be able to...(I just have Xenon bulbs right now, which are better than stock, but not even close to as cool as the HID's)

Sorry to drag this one from the dead. I finally got some free time from moving new house, new state, etc. and fixed my headlight connector. I didn't get a rice bulb it was a Sylvania bulb. I went to the acura dealership, I hate going there cause of crappy service, and told them what I needed. He threw me a replacement and asked if mine looked like the piece. It was a recall and he had bout a 100 in a box on his desk. I wired it in and all is good now. I wish they would send out recalls about our cars. I had my car overs 5yrs and bought it from the same dealership. I love the car but dont like the service there. my .02
