Question Head Unit Installation Question

Do I need a wiring kit to install an aftermarket head unit? So I can buy it ahead of time, I hate splicing everything.

Thanks

Anyone has direction on how to remove the stock radio???? Don't feel like breaking any brackets, any advise would be helpful

Thanks,

When I just did mine last week, the manual that came with the sleeving gave detailed instructions with pictures. If you want, I can scan it in and e-mail it to you.

HQuakers: my email is mike@gtspec.com just in case.

If it is too much trouble to scan and email, you can just give me some instructions

Thanks again.

I will e-mail it to you asap.... it includes pictures, so that's why it would be better for me to e-mail it rather than typing the instructions here...

Make sure you have your anti-theft code or else the radio won’t work anymore once you unplug it.

1 - Take a flathead screwdriver and wrap the tip in an old shirt or rag. Slowly and gently begin popping off the wood trim starting on the passenger side. Just insert the screwdriver in between the dash and wood and pry it out. Be careful around the radio where the wood gets thinner. You might want to use you fingers on that part.

2 - Once the wood is off you’ll see that the climate control unit is connected to it. Unplug the 2 plugs behind the climate and completely take the wood trim & climate control unit out.

3 - Remove the 4 philips screws holding the black trim around the headunit out.

4 - The headunit should now pull out.

the code is not on the radio
you have to ask the dealer for it
make sure you have the serial number
that's on the radio
I hope this helps

Mine's in my manual on the car stereo page, buit it could be just about anywhere - it was a sticker that the original driver could choose where to install...
