Have very Sad News!

Hey folks,

I think the time has come where I have to get rid of my old girl. I have been debating about it for a couple of weeks now and thinking I may need to do it.

She is getting older now and has given me a great deal of service and never let me down, and has always brought be home in one piece and never left me stranded. She has:

194,000 on the odometer.
I have installed alot of new parts in her and may be loosing if I trade her in. I will see what the verdict is tomorrow.

I still have my 2004 TL Navi with complete A-Spec Package, but my 96' became my beater since I got my newer mistress the 04. I am currently looking to purchase a 2002 TL Type-S with 62,000k on the odometer. The 2002 is Black on Black with Navi as well.

My O4 is Black on Black with Navi.

And my old girl that I am gonna possibly get rid of is Black with Tan Leather.

I am kinda torn cause I remember she was the first car I really bought all by myself after college when I was making some money. She is a 1996 I bought in 1998 with 24,000 on the odometer. She cost me $22k back then and has given me blood sweat and tears and still pulls strong. The body is a bit banged up but all of the internals are MINT, Oil, Antifreeze, Brake Fluid just about EVERYTHING!. I have recently put alot of money into her with Timing Belt, Water Pump, Drive Belts, Brake Rotors (Slotted), Brake Pads (EBC Green Stuff), Tires, Two new Rear Brake Calipers, New Power Window Switch, A/C Blower Motor, Ignition, Radiator, Radiator Fan, Tires (Michilen Pilots), Japanese Spec Black Insert Head Lights, with HID for both Headlights and Fogs, Inspire Tails, Eibach Springs, Tokico Blue Shocks, Gabriel Strut Tower Brace. The list keeps going on.

I even Still have parts I havent installed in her yet. I am just caught between a rock and a hard place. I dont have the room to keep all 4 cars. I have also a 1984 50th Anniversary 300ZX Turbo.

Sounds gay but kinda brings a tear to my eye to let her go.

Bobby: I am with you on this one. I am really thinking about breaking up with Daisy. I've f*cked her so hard since I met her and now she is no use to me and parts of her does not work any longer. I don't want to put out money to maintain her but she is high maintenance!

I hate to see a 2001'er go but I may join you, Bobby.

No, I could have some use for certain body parts,(<-!! That's if you still have them) and I have a couple people looking for a good reliable car. I could rebuild her for them.

I was just messing with you.. If I do part her, I can only take off the aftermarket junk. I'll post up if I do jump the gun.

true that.

Kam: I was in NJ last week, in bergenfield. NJ is nice and has nice roads compared to NY. I don't know how people in NY can drive with aftermarket wheels, for real..

j/k bro... if you ever up again let me know!!! and NJ has its share of fail roads too... trust me i drive thru them everyday... i won't get another set of wheels or suspension mods on any car unless i move back to TX or somewhere warm where snow and salt doesn't screw up the roads every year...

I went to New York this Saturday (first time), and man was I surprised by the roads! I thought Montreal was bad, but Manhattan has some horrendous roads. The highway to NY was silky smooth, but once in the city it got real bad.

exactly! The other week, i left from the city to go to niagara falls (1st time) and as you said, the highway was smooth but once you're in the city, youre going to get banged in the a*s without lube.

i wanted to go over to canada side after seeing niagara falls but a few of my friends didn't bring their freaking passport!!!!!! I wanted to hit up that casino there at niagara falls and then drive to the chinatown for some exotic asian fruits!

KAM: Next time dude! Hey, i brought back 2 freaking dozen bagels at some bagel place called "CELEBRITY" know where thats at?? sh*t goes down hard in the morning with their sundried tomato spread.

OP: Sounds like your 1G has a lot of sentimental value to you, considering it was your first real car and everything. You hear a lot of people fondly talking about their first car, and how selling it was a huge mistake. If you still love your car, keep it. It's still running fine, you have lots of parts for it, and you'll be taking a loss when you get the 2g. That, and you'll have to part with a siginificant amount of money if your tranny goes.

If I were you, I'd keep the car. Besides, you have an 04 if you want something more luxurious, your 300ZX if you want something more fun.

Well I went to the Acura Dealership to look at and possibly purchase the Type-S but they were full of shit. For those of you in NY stay away from Paragon Acura, they are a bunch of Liars. They claimed to have the car, so I went down to go see it, I wait there for 30 min while they go look for the car, then say its at their other dealership, so I go there and wait another 30 min for them to say they are bringing it up to me to see, then hear that its at the body shop getting the rear bumper painted and I need to come back the following day at 11AM. I show up and they said it was sold, talk about bull shit.

Anyway I am going to look at a really clean 2002 Acura RL with Navi, it is WDP, I wish it was black on black but no such luck. The car was assembled in Japan and has Navi with 45k on the odometer so I will see what happens this Saturday I may be driving home with it.

Still contemplating about keeping the old girl, but what the hell am I supposed to do with 4 cars. My girlfriend said all I need is one car, but she doesnt know me too well yet as we have only been going out for 7 months. She doesnt understand that I wish I had the car collection Jay Leno has...lol but just in Acuras, and the Z cars.

I will let everyone know what the verdict is after this weekend.

Thanks for all your comments.

I am right there with you man. I bought my 97 3.2 TL 9/99 and I have 180 thousands miles and I actually pulled the trigger and I am buying an 07 Infiniti M35x with 32k on it. I need to post my first picture of my car on here before I get rid of her. After all the money I've spent on mods and keeping her on the road it was starting to wear on me. This place has been real good to me. I have bought everything from shocks, springs, Inspires, to chrome Type S rims and they all have made my car look good. I will be sad to go!
