H3 bulb problem... (Sorry)

I'm really sorry for posting this as I've sure it has been beaten to death. But just hear me out.

I got some H3 that I found on eBay. Looking at the bulbs, they don't look like they'll fit into the harness connector (the plastic connector part that goes into the back of a bulb). I thought you would just have to connect the H3 bulbs to the wire harness connector and then ground the extra wire that's on the H3 bulb to something.

But looking at the bulb and the connector at the wire harness, it's not going to go in... (they're completely different).

Did I misunderstand something...?

I found an old topic on using H3 with the H3C harness, but it just said to ground the H3's extra wire to something. Other then that, all the other threads just ask about using H3 bulbs and none of them have the answer.

Thanks in advance.

Well, h3 and h3c should have the same base for the most part. If it isnt going to come close to fitting, maybe you didnt get h3s. I know the H1 fits with little modification, so I doubt it's that. Dunno what to tell ya bro..can you take a pic of the bulb for us?

the H3 bulb is round and the H1 bulb is oval and much skinnier... offhand that is the only way i can describe the difference...

Thanks guys... Last time I made a thread about this, I was told to search the forums (and there was nothing I could find).

I didn't realize this was still here. Anyway, I got H3s and was ready to install them about two weeks ago... Then I found a big problem.

When I took off my yellow condoms for the second time and went to put it back together, i guess I stripped the hole where the bottom screws go... The unit holds up fine (still stiff, no rattling, just have to becareful when undoing the holding clip) but I don't have anything to put the ground wire around...

I could tap in new threads... but that'll be a pain in the a$$. I'm think about just soldering the ground wire to hole where the screws would go in. Hopefully, that'll work.

And the H3 bulb is exactly like the H3C. The only difference is that the H3C has the two stubs, while the H3 has 1 positive wire.

ya you can get H3 or H3c the only diff. is the wire. But then again, once I used the h3's my fogs went out after 3 weeks, and I havnt had time to fix since.
