Mine's a CODEALARM 2-way w/ remote start. Just picked up my DEI window modules so once I get the car back and get them installed I will have one-touch auto up and down on all four windows and control via the remote.

extra battery backup - if thieves disconnect battery, alarm is being powered by
battery back up

audio senor - glass breaking produces acoustic sounds which this device picks up and activates the alarm...

extra mini siren.... for FULL BLAST SIREN!... also added a air horn from pepboys.. now its reallllllly loud!

and a mercury switch - attaches undernearth the hood so if the hood is opened from outside.... without theives entering car or breaking glass... the sirn goes off at full blast......

Viper 791 2 way system

Remote start, glass break (audio sensor), 2 stage shock, back-up battery, tilt sensor (for towing or rim theivery), interior mini piezo (viper calls it the pain generator, and it does just that- MUAAAHHH HA HAA HA HAAA!!!)- its a must-have tho; also, proximity sensor, but these are the main reason for falses, so i only plug that one in on occasion- its really cool tho...

oh, and a big black glock to, uh, 'question' the unfortunate bastard that didn't take heed....

where can i pick up the audio sensor from? that sounds like a good investment. that and the mercury switch. I have a mini piezo on the way in and a backup battery sitting here jus waiting to get installed.

LOL (set it off by accident , didn't realize until the alarm started goin off while I was drivin! LOL) Reached down and hit the disarm JUST before the car actually died. Least I know it works!!! HAHA

well I don't have any significant upgrades like rims or sound system or anything, so I guess the factory alarm is fine for now.

factory alarm isn't sensitive. sometimes you'll need a motion sensor for those who get too close, it churps.

Factory alarm has no shock sensor. I leave the factory alarm active as it is an extra piece of protection with it's built in starter kill and such, but it just doesn't have the various type sof protection that are available with the aftermarket stuff, especially if you go with a two-way like I have. Plus my alarm has remote start which is half the reason I got it!! LOL

Is there a starter kill on the factory alarm? I was going to put in a manual kill switch because I didn't think we had one.

What else does it have? Also, when the factory alarm is triggered, does anyone know how long it will blast before it stops on its own?

Yes, the factory alarm has a starter kill. TRUST me found out the hard way when a friend and I did the alarm, we missed a diode for the arm/disarm and the alarm was staying active when the remote start tried to start had the alarm go off on SEVERAL occasions...LOL
