Fuel pump problem..need help quick!

To make a long story short, last night my car wouldn't turn over. Replaced the battery, charged it, jumped it, nothing. So, mechanic tells me it's the fuel pump and that a replacement will cost $303+labor= $420+tax.

Anyone know where to get the fuel pump for cheaper than $303? I did a search online and found these results at bbautoparts.com:

CARTER [FUEL PUMP-ELECTRIC] In Tank Fuel Pump 195.75
ACDELCO [FUEL PUMP-ELECTRIC] PUMP,FUEL OEM#89032305 G25A4 150.94
KEM [FUEL PUMP-ELECTRIC] Pump FUELPUMP 189.15
AIRTEX [FUEL PUMP-ELECTRIC] Fuel Pump 196.72
AIRTEX [FUEL PUMP-ELECTRIC] Fuel Pump Assy-Hanger SUPERC. IN TANK PUMP AND HANGER 238.4

Anyone? I tried acuraautomotiveparts.org, but I couldn't find fuel pump in any of the categories.

Thanks!

I think my fuel pump may be going too... When I first start up the car I can hear a noise coming from underneath the back seat (where fuel pump is)... It sounds like the pump is sucking up fuel and struggling really hard to do so... Maybe its normal, but I have just started to notice it..

Had a similar experience and it ended being the MFR

Well, it's too late now..he already replaced the pump. The mechanic said it was shot. I keep my gas low A LOT and he said that it likely the problem with it. I had a little trouble starting the car recently on cold days. Maybe it could've been the MFR, but he did a full diagnostic for free and said it was the pump. All in all: $491.81. I wanna cry.

The new one makes a shitload of noise, so I might call him and ask him why I hear the pump over my engine, radio, and low tone exhaust. I don't think I should hear it?

hear the pump over your engine ? I'm not sure what you mean

well my cars troubles have increased of late, now I find her hesitating to pick up when I hit the gas... kinda like she's running out of the gas but she'll stutter a tad and then move on. I think it's time to get an '06 now

Yeah, I hear a suction/pumping noise coming from the front..the filter I believe. My friend even heard it in the car, so I'm not going crazy. Its very annoying. Also, the car takes 2 tries to start now, so I called the mechanic back and he seemed clueless.

Had the mechanic look at it this weekend and he said it's the fuel pump. Faulty part. Can't get it fixed until next week. Ugh!

Update: Replaced the new fuel pump with another one...car makes the noise 10x worse, especially at idle. Also, the car idles right at 1k rpm now instead of like 5-600.

Mechanic said that he had another car take 4 different fuel pumps before he got a good working one. Company says it's his fault and barely gives him any money back. I'm not sure who to think but I can't keep driving 60 miles to get this fixed until we find a working fuel pump.
