hey all just want to get a general poll on everyone's thoughts about Yellow H3C bulbs... or did those of u with yellow fogs leave the condoms on with the regular bulbs..

 

I had regular yellow fogs...

Took the condom out and left the stock white bulb in... Day time running lights...

 

i left my jimmy hat on, i like the look of the yellow

 

Yup Yellow is the way for me. One of the first things that drew me to this car actually.

 

i took the yellow off and i kinda regret it...its one of those things that i think sets the car apart formt he pack.

 

i bought yellow hids fogs before...but it wasnt the yellow that it came out to be so im back to 6000k hid fogs..which is ok..not better than yellow...does anyone out der know how to get REALLY YELLOW FOGS like the IS300 fogs..??

 

besides yellow tint film on the housing..hehe

 

Yellow fogs with HIDS are badass. thats what i got.

 

Yellow Fog > Any other color Fog

 

I think he was asking if any of us have using lets say for instance the PIAA extreme yellow or whatever the bulb is for the fogs, with the condoms OFF.

I have my yellow condoms off now and was also wondering this.

Would I get a real crisp yellow?

 

Yup I love the yellow, gives front a cool look with my blues at night.

 

Took yellow off, regular stock bulb.
I use fog with parking lights on only during the day when it rains.

I kept the yellow. Drive with them on all the time, just the driving lights and the fogs, even during the day, lol. I love how the yellow looks.

 

i want the really bright yellow look that the lexus' give out... i have HID's 6000k in there and am feeling a change.. anyone want to sell me their yellow condoms???

i keep them on all the time, for one thing it lets you see alot wider than just having the regular headlights on, also whenver i drive by people it seems to turn heads

 

love my yellow fogs...one of the most unique if not THE most unique aspects of 1st gen TL's

 

Took the yellows, will keep it that way. Sold the condoms though, but whoever bought it sent me a link to where you can get them......still keeping the all clear/white look.....

 

ok a couple of questions...


1) condoms...those things over the actual bulb on the headlight?

2) Why do you take them off?

3) How much would a bulb (or a set of 2) for the fogs cost at my dealership?

bulbs run like 20 bucks for the bulbs...

yeah the are over the actual bulb... one of mine shattered in the housing??? too hott????

Yup, from what I understand, the condom is what gives the yellow look. I think there is a sticky on how to remove them, check the Problems/Fixes section.

I hate how the new Buicks have yellow DRLs, they make me feel like TLs are less unique.

 

took yellow out..then put back in a few days later..

 

Remove the battery to access the drivers side fog.

Unplug the fog light, Obv

Remove the fog light bulbs.

There are 2 screws that hold the entire housing in the headlight housing, if that makes any sense.

LOOSEN the top one and you can completely remove the bottom screw.

You can remove both of them if you wish, but the top is much harder to get back in than the bottom.

With the one screw loose and the other all the way out, remove the fog light housing.

You will see the big yellow condom...Press down and turn, you will see how this works when it is in your hand. Take off the yellow piece and reinstall everything.

Worst part imo is taking the battery out.

I'd go with an aftermarket fog if you are wanting white. The stock foglight is not a crisp white with the condom off at all.

I went with eurodesignz 8500k white bulbs, that I had to convert the wiring to work.

I may switch to silverstars because IMHO, they light up the road better.

yeah today I went to my acura dealership and bought a new fog light, I like the condoms in, so i kept them in, and I am now running my orig. 2 yellow fog lights instead of a ghetto, 1. Before, I wouldnt even turn them on becuase having one on looked ghetto.

 

so who wants to sell me their yellow condoms?!?!?!?
