Exhaust Recommendations

I got a 97 3.2 tl. Is a Borla muffler the way to go? Also if anyone has any ideas on intake, pulleys and whether or not to bump the timing please let em flow.

Don't know if anyone has a Borla system installed. Comptech, HKS are popular. I have Magnaflow which I like. Intakes are AEM, Injen, Comptech Icebox or there are a few DIY intakes out there. Pulleys are limited to AEM TruPower and Unorthodox Racing. I'm getting the UR pulleys installed next week. I can't speak to the timing unless you mean a V-AFC to tweak the VTEC Hi/Lo settings.

They dont list the first gen TL intake on their website, was it modified for your ride or did you have to call to get the part #.

You can also check www.racerdesign.com. They have great style mufflers to choose from. My exhaust on my Accord I got from them. But not putting an exhaust on the TL, that rides going to stay nice and quiet.

The best exhaust for 96-98 TL's in no exhaust. Its so nice and quiet, put TVs or a system instead.

Anyone know where I can get a stock exhaust for cheaper than $142? My exhaust is all messed up and needs to be replaced SOON.
I wish I hadn't messed around with the exhaust. Don't do it!

Well, i got a universal muffler, which sounds pretty good, not too loud; nice and deep. However, my dummy mechanic chopped up the pipes and welded like a mofo. The problem is, he attached the muffler too low so I bottomed out and dented it like a champ. Also, he attached it to the underside of the "heat shield" which is now about to break off with the muffler cause the muffler is too heavy. It creaks REALLY loud and flexes with the heat shield and my mechanic threw away my old exhaust. Now, I am searching for a used exhaust otherwise I am gonna dish out the $142 plus shipping plus labor to put the old system back on.

Final thought: Leave the exhaust the way it is. It is quiet and doesn't cause you concern. Get a system or rims or springs or something else because our cars weren't built for speed, and shouldn't be tampered with.

I pretty much just wanted exhaust for sound and looks. As far as performance, Im not looking to go fast. I dropped $4,000 on my last Integra and all I got were blown head gaskets and a ****ed up sillanoid in my third gear shift. (but did go really fast).
So I may just get a nice double chrome tip to go over the exhaust tips, and spend all my $$ on some rims. Any good exhaust tips that have worked for anyone?

I've got a vibrant universal muffler that I put on for the look of a tip I wanted. It's a little loud, but it's deep. i like it.
