Engine Detailing
Engine Detailing
My trusty radiator practically exploded and spilled gooey anti-freeze all over my engine and the inside part of my hood. And this happened everytime I turned on my car, because I had to wait two weeks for a new radiator. Thanks to this one little hole in the radiator my engine now looks like it was submerged in the everglades. It's all muddy and nasty... well you get the point.
So once I got the radiator replaced, I immediately begin the fun task of cleaning my car in 25 degree weather. Now that's dedication right there.
This gunk literally refuses to come out, along with everything else that has accumulated over the years. This gunk doesn't come out to anything, it looks like rust but feels like soil. Irony is you can probably take it off with your fingernails if you tried hard enough, but I would prefer not to get gangreen and frostbite by dipping my finger into a bucket of freezing water.
Not to waste more time writing... does anyone know any good engine degreasers or tips on how to clean the engine?
Thanks

u can buy any degreaser at a local auto store....
drive the car so the engine is warm... let it cool for about 10-15 mins... spray all of the degreaser onto the engine and let it sit for about 5 mins... then hose off... try to cover off alternator, batt terminals and intake...

I WORK AT A CAR DEALERSHIP AND MY PORTERS USE A VERY GOOD CLEANER CALLE LIQUI-CLEAN FROM A TOUCH OF CLASS. NOW HERE WE GET IT IN FIVE GALLON BUCKETS AT WHOLESALE THROUGH OUR DEALERSHIP I AM NOT SURE IF THERE IS A CONSUMER SIZED ONE. WHEN WE RECEIVE TRADE IN CARS THEY CLEAN THE CARS SO THEY HAVE A SEMBLANCE OF BEING WELL KEPT AND THIS STUFF WORKS VERY GOOD. LIQUI-CLEAN BY TOUCH OF CLASS INCORPORATED 7455 NATURAL BRIDGE CAVERNS ROAD SCHERTZ, TX 78154 info@cal-tex-inc.com or their number 210-564-3200 THIS INFO I GOT OFF THE BUCKET LABEL SO HEY I TRIED!
After degreasing, let the engine dry, then spray armor-all or tire shine spray all over the engine....it will look new! We do it all the time.People do that when they sell their cars....make it look new and clean
