Sure.

Also, use Raamatt, not Dynamat. Too expensive. http://www.raamaudio.com,/

Cascade is another alternative. NSXNEXT and Iggy have dome extensive dampening. Southbound posted a very detailed step by step on how to remove the door panels

Actually its www.raamaudio.com

Its only $99 for 62.5 sq ft. I've read that its just as good as Dynamat on the www.rockfordfosgate.com forums. Check it out for yourself. Those guys know what they're talking about.

Well if you want to do just the trunk, get the Dynamat. But if you want to do the whole car, get the Raamaat. Dynamat will cost you a fortune for the whole car.

Long time no see guys. Anyways, I applied two layers of Dynamat Xtreme in all 4 of my doors and had some people apply it to the floorboard but there wasn't much of an improvement. I don't think it was worth it, but at least I received it a dealer cost.

Dynamat doesn't really stop rattling. Best thing to do is try to find out where the rattling is coming from and tighten the screws or insert foam to stop contact. Most rattles are caused by NVH in the ride. This can be caused by using lower profile tires, or in my case, having a 400 watt subwoofer in the trunk. Amazingly enough, I have not had one rattle since the one in my sunroof shade. I tried the Dynamat license plate kit along with the trunk kit and barely noticed a difference. One thing is, that stuff is really heavy.

actually probably the best way to stop rattles would be to use dynamat original instead of extreme because original is heavier

magiviper, I don't have any personal experience with this stuff, but I've heard its good from a few people and a lot of people say Dynamat is a rip-off. Dont forget what BASISON said though, this stuff is heavy. The more you add, the more weight to your car. If not for that then I'd add 3 layers all over. First off I would listen closely and FIX any rattle you find. Fix as many as possible. Then put a layer of sound deadening, and stuff foam anywhere you can. Dont Dynamat the rear deck lid OR behind the backseats. You dont want to suffocate your bass. Anyway, that should help a lot. Do a search on this forum and you should find some of Ron's advice. I know I've read it before. Good luck!

BTW, fix your license plate from rattling right away if you haven't already. Mine stopped rattling as soon as I put a rear view camera behind it. I've heard a sponge does the trick though.

yes, i used the sponge. bought it at a grocery store(sponge you use to wash dishes) and cut it in half.. unscrewed the back plate and stuck it behind there. that shiet still rattles!! but its not coming from the plate no more. i read on this site...back in the days.. that the rattle on the 2nd gen comes from the lever of the trunk. i looked at my trunk and couldn't find a way to fix the lever so it wont rattle. if you have subs in your trunk, next time turn it up and press the bottom part of your trunk lid in really hard(below the plate) and see if it stops rattling. if it stops, it is the lever. i tried this and it stopped so i know its the lever for our 1st gen also. if you have any idea on how to fix this.......HOOK IT UP!!!! if i can fix this, **** dynamat!

Whats a trunk lever? Can you be more specific?

I know my torsion bar rattles and I can't find a fix for it. The ski hole door also rattles. I have so much bass my whole trunk lid vibrates. You actually see it moving. I need my W7's installed!!!!!!

i meant that latch...you know that medal hook that hooks onto your car when you close your trunk? if your ski hole door rattles, see if you can tighten the bolt or something. ****, if your dvc's make your car rattle, your w7s will make your car sound like a hoopty. i say give them to me

Sorry I should of been more specific, I meant the floor of the front and back seat. Since it hardly did anything I decided to save some money instead of doing the trunk. Fortunately my trunk doesn't rattle, but a rattle emits somewhere on the driver side when I'm on rough roads. It gets irritating and the dealer nor I can figure out where it's comming from; I think the dealer is lying

Yeah but the DVC's pound too. I just don't like full SPL subs like that. I didn't know better when I bought them. People around my way always say Rockford is the best so I went out and bought all RF stuff. I do like they're amps though. I really want my W7s installed. Too bad I still need an alternator, wires, capacitor, box and installation. I don't know if I should just wait until the fall and put it all in my next car. I guess the only thing I'd lose out on is the box. I'm sure someone on this board would want a high performance alternator though.

colt45: you think you can talk to your homeboys dad in giving me a good price?

dom, whenever you get your w7's in, you'll need a "special" box for that shiet.. dont buy those universal box...you wont get the full effect. i read about these.. they also said to let the pros do the installation (tweeter told me that). i guess you have to watch JL's video guide to actually know how to wire them up

The box will be custom made by Streeteffectz (one day ). I do all the wiring on my own. Thats the easy part. The construction is the hard part.

The wiring should be done by pros? Maybe for your average person that doesn't know much about car audio and video, then sure. Its only single voice coil anyway, not dual. How can you possibly mess that up? Especially when theres one amp per sub.
