door lock?
door lock?
this was prob brought up b4 but when i went to search for it i had no idea wat to search for. anyway when i turn the key in my driver door the door opens but only the drivers door, but if i hold the key in the turned position for a while all the doors open. now when i turn the key one time in the passenger door ALL the doors open. whats the deal and is there anyway i can change that? ( make all doors open just by clickin driver door once?) also i do not have an alarm thing so i always open the doors wit a key. thanks in advance fellas.
Do you mean unlock rather than open?? Yes...that's what is designed to do. Unlocking the doors via the driver's door will unlock only the driver's door for security reasons while unlocking the doors via the passenger side door will unlock all doors for convenience.
As the alarm thingy, it's a remote. Your car comes with two stock but I guess they were either broken (that was my case) and not given to you or they just didn't give it to you, period. Get one on Ebay. I bought one on there for $15. There was a thread on programming the remote.

Crap...can't edit my previous post. Anyways, here's an auction on the remote. Hurry up, you only have an hour or so left.

This is the only kind of remote you can get. The newer ones are for 2nd gen TL.

You guys are right. But it wasn't available until '98. So if you have a '98 2.5, then I'm almost sure they use the same remote as '96-'98 3.2.
EDIT: Just checked, the '98 2.5 definitely uses the same remote as 3.2 models.

1998 was the year where the 2.5 finally got a proper system.
yea i meant unlock not open. and i have a 97 3.2 so if i buy the remote then it will DEF work on my car? and wat will it do? only unlock the door or trunk and windows and all that nonsense? thanks again guys anytime i come here i get exactly wat im lookin for. keep it up
The remote and the only remote from the auction above I posted will work. All it does is to lock and unlock the doors. No trunk release, no panic button, no auto-down windows (heh...only Accords started having that feature in '03 and our Ody in '05).
Hahaha just realized that the remote on ebay in the previous response was the one I bought yesterday! Guess it pays to wait till the last 18 seconds to place your bid---I love how inexperienced bidders bid the starting bid 5 days before the auction ends and expecting to win lose to some guy like me who bids in the last minute! haha-got mine for 21-24.85 with shipping hope to see it here soon---can somebody link me to the programming thread-thnks
