Dome Light Speakers

Okay, I did a search but couldn't find anything on this. I read the manual too and it makes no mention of them. One of them died recently, and I have a lot of cd's that have tracks with a center channel that you can hear (and the one speaker crackles on certain songs). I need to replace it (I'll change both anyway), but I don't know how to expose them so I can change them, and I don't know what kind of speakers go in there. Anyone who knows...help would really be appreciated.

I'm not entirely sure myself.

As a bit of help, maybe check an Acura Vigor forum. Same setup

according to this post i got from hondanews.com about our tls it says:

"The standard audio system in all TL models is an 8-speaker unit with AM/FM stereo/cassette and compact disc player. Speaker selection and location were determined on the basis of best sound propogation and imaging. There are two 6x9-inch full range speakers in the rear deck, one 6.5-inch full-range speaker mounted on each front door, two 1.5-inch tweeters on the dash top and two 2-inch midrange speakers located in the headliner"

I personally have never been able to find 2-inch miderange speakers. Most 3-way component systems seem to come with 4-inch midranges. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

Thanks, maybe the dealer will know and I can special order them from Panasonic (or whoever makes our speakers...I think it's them?)

I found where to buy them. Unfortunately its over $100 US.

If you're still interested.. go here:

www.acuraautomotiveparts.org

Enter your TL's year, engine type (audio components are the same on all 1st gen TL's)

Under System/Component:

-Radio Antenna/Speaker

-2 inch speaker

Hey Ken, this place is cheaper.

http://www.acuraparts247.com/sunnysi...All&vinsrch=no

They sell the 2" mid-range speakers for $52.60 while the other one sells them for $59.25.

Excellent prices on all that. I'm half tempted to convert my car to a 4 channel ABS with VSA (vehicle stability assist) using some RL parts

If you replace the tweeters in the overhead with good tweets, you will be totally annoyed, because somethin like polk audio tweets will be damn loud so close to your head and mes up ur audio mix. just my 2 cents from experience

HOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW could you do this. I guess in theory its possible because if i recall vsa integrates the duties of tcs and abs. How much would an install like this cost, and what kind of work would be required.

To do it, I need a VSA regulator and converting the ABS from 3 channel (2 front, 1 for rear) to a 4 channel.

Oh and of course, install it and swap the TCS deactivation button for a VSA button.
