Something smells in my car....

Hey guys,

Some help for a fellow 2.5TL owner. Recently I've been smelling a scent of burning or gas in my car. This only happens when I turn on my heat. I don't know where its coming from.

The only things I worked on my car was a tune-up a month ago.

Let me know what you guys think. Cuz I cant take it no more!!!!

can it be the exhaust from the car in front of you? im assuming that you have the vent open. if you do, the car will draw fresh air from outside the car. if another car is directly in front of you, you will be sucking in their exhaust.

Ya something is burning, causing it to come through your vents. Oil, gas....

Baked beans will do that to a person... you'll smell a lot of gas...

Buy yeah, I to smell a gassy type smell when i first turn my AC/Heater on... in my situation, its my exhaust fumes that i think are barely getting into the car because of my bad manifold... i really need to get that fixed... Anyways, in your situation... IMO you should go ahead and check your fuel lines in your engine compartment... Starting from your Injectors... while the car is on... look for any leaks... then follow the fuel rail over to the filter... etc... if you find no leaks or escaping gas... then it might be your exhaust... if all else fails... there is no other way to get around it but to go to the Stealership... or a private mechanic that is certified... good luck...

could it be that your ac vents are dirty or got some nasty dew built up in it? maybe u can clean out the vents and see if that will get rid of the smell...

Only other possibility is that it could beyour heater core. Doesn't sound like it from the smells you are getting, but if it has a sweet, burnt smell then it might be coolant coming through the vents via the heater core. Have you checked your coolant level lately?
