Debadge Help

I debadged my car today and I love the way that it turned out. After I finished cleaning it and finally waxing it a couple times I saw that there is still a "ghost" outline of the letters and numbers if you look at it in the sun. What I need to know is what can I do to get rid of this "ghost" outline once and for all.

Meguiar's Scratch-X with an orbital buffer made short work of mine.

Let's hope yours aren't like mine and etched into the paint. It's actually chipped in there, but that saved my ass when I was pulled over by two squad cars:

Cop: "The reason I pulled you over was that your plates are registered to an Acura and this is NOT an Acura."
Me: "Oh, that's all? It's actually engraved into my trunk."
Cop: "Oh, ok. Sorry about that!"

As usual when I get let off the hook, I was alone.

~Cheers~

What color paint? Being red, my paint behind the emblems is a somewhat darker shade of red than the rest of the trunk. Red fades in sunlight over time, so it may just take some time for the paint to blend together... it sucks i know

Yeah that is what everyone is telling me that eventually it will blend but I'm thinking of getting my car detailed so they will just buff/polish it out.

Yeah...I had mine washed, polished, and waxed after I debadged. It looked like there was never a badge there to begin with. I have a black TL.

Haha, wax around the darker area. Maybe the lack of UV protection will make it fade quicker to match the rest of the truck!
