Damn Ignition Switch

Well after feelling a loss of braking power (i would loose pressure for some reason) in recent weeks I went to my shop and my guy told me i had low brakes. I was picking up the car and i went to start it. it would die everytime the car would start but then shut down. my guy told me the switch needed to be replaced.. took 3 days to get the part from acura. But now i need a seperate key for my car and my door or trunk. Is it normal to go at around 99,000 miles? are there any recalls maybe?

Hey Danny,

It's Noam, Jeff's friend. I know the 99TLs (I think) had an ignition switch recall. If the switch was recalled for safety issues, you could have gotten it done for free from Acura. I'm not sure if it covers your year. Check the portion of the site that shows recalls.

Noam

97 and up TL's ignition switches are covered by warrantey so if u got a 96 your out of luck just like me i think it was around 380 dollars to fix it.
