ive been driving with this coilover with a 2 inch drop for a while now and u feel everything on the streets, i mean u just dont feel it but u bounce like ten feet up in the air. i almost throw up after eating a heavy meal riding or i should say bouncing ready got me sick. going to swich over to dropzone springs that drops about 2 1/2 inches.
who out there has drop there car that can tell me hows the ride...

 

For one, Maybe that goes to show you your drop is too much? Raise it.

Two, perhaps you have them set to stiff.


I have had TEIN coil-overs for several years and I can have them ride BETTER THAN STOCK... or stiff as a track vehicle.

Yeah, Soopa's right...you should probably change your shocks when getting coilovers. If you just had springs, then the ride probably wouldnt be as rough.

 

uh....only semi off topic....but scoopa really has over 125,000 posts. good God man! but on the ride....i would switch to ones that you can adjust if you can afford it. 2 1/2 inches is a huge drop.

yup yup. its a cheap brand, should of gotten groundcontrol, skunk2 and if you got the funds b+g suspension. it also depends on your shocks too and how dunked your drop is

 

oh so is the name of the brand. so if i gotton skunk2 will my ride will not be as bumpy.
b+g makes suspension for the 3.2l tls? i will like to get the whole suspension done.
if so where can i get them. thanx for info

No...skunk2 are really stiff coilovers. The spring rates are some of the highest for off the shelf aftermarket coilovers. If you go custom it's stiffer. I don't think they make it for the 3.2 anyways. If you want a smooth ride the only one you should use is stock.

 

Or use like the Eibach prokit. It only drops it like 1.2 inches, and you can use your stock shocks. I dont have them myself, so I cant tell you what kind of ride it has.

 

I looked into TEIN and even spoke to a TEIN rep at our local HUGE import car show (Darknights) he couldn't find a kit for the first gen TL, which one did you use?!?

 

Mine just got delivered today. Can't wait to get the motor change done on my car and then swap over the springs. Mights wait till spring though until I am ready to put the 18's back on anyways.

 

I don't think soopa has a first gen. There is only one company that makes coilovers for our cars. That company is B+G. The only other choice would be the Ground Controls which aren't real coilovers becuase they require you to get shocks. I never even knew dropzone made coilovers for our cars. With the 3.2 you can either do Eibach prokit with oem shocks or B+G.

Are you going to do the install yourself cornflake? if so take pics and do a diy.

 

I won't be doing the motor swap myself, as it's just too damned cold here and I don't have a garage, but I will be around the shop while it is being done, and will definately be taking pics!!! As for the springs, if I wait until the late spring to install them, which I just might, then yes I will be installing them myself and I will do a DIY. I just acan't wait to get home and SEE that I actually finally have them! Been getting dissed for TOO long about having a 4X4!!! lol
