Climate Control

My Climate control Stopped working , meaning the fan , settings or A/C will not turn on. Everything lights up saying there in operation (there is power to the climate control), but nothing. Checked the fuses and there all ok. I tried Auto setting and manual , and the blower will not turn on . Am I over looking a fuse?

Try your self diagnostic function. Press Auto and OFF together and hold. Read the fan bars (how many are missing and position of missing bars), arrow towards the feet of passenger (on or off), ON (on/off), and OFF (on/off).

Did you check the under dash fuse No. 7? If not check this, and remove for 10-20 secs and re-install. It could be the system needs a reset.

Above is based on 2.5TL. The 3.2TL should be similar, perhaps identical.

Blower motor relay (under dash fuse box) or blower motor could be bad. Try thumping the blower motor housing and see if blower starts working. If yes, then brushes are worn out and you'll need to replace the blower.

good luck

This is the code for open or short circuit to fan motor or faulty motor.

You should pull the connector to the motor and check w/ 12V directly applied to motor. If no blower action, a new motor is indicated. Otherwise, it's a fuse or wiring fault, however these are much less likely than faulty motor.

good luck

Blower is inside the blower housing under the dash and behind the glove box. It is not easy to access. A shop manual is essential if you're DIY. On 2.5TL, the evaporator module must be removed before the blower module can be pulled. I'm not sure about the 3.2TL.

good luck

You need an Acura Shop Manual for this repair. On 2.5TL, the evaporator must be removed to access the blower. Not sure about 3.2TL, but probably the same. This requires removing AC charge and releasing connections on engine side of firewall, and then removing evaporator module from under the dash. Glove box will need to come out, but not the dashboard.

good luck

I'm chief mechanic of my household; 6 cars last time I counted all w/ 100K + miles. Kids scattered over Texas, but Dad still gets the call when somethings wrong.

Regards
