Clearing tail lights

I think I have it all figured out from some searching around, but was wondering if anyone had a part number for the new gaskets. One of my tail lights leak a bit so I figure I will reseal them and clear them at teh same time. It's only like $20 for the gaskets, not too bad.

Not a lot of people have success in clearing the tails. I do not know of one. We have painted them, but not cleared them. People end up destroying their tails, but this will give you the chance to replace them with Inspires. I had mine painted, looked good for sometime, but ended up selling them and getting a set of Inspires, well worth the money, gives you the new Car look.

Caution when you decide to clear them. Seal them, yes, otherwise you will get this fogged up look.

Good luck.

I don't want to clear the whole thing, just the orange part. It has been done here too, I think a couple people have and have some pictures of it up. Also, who is "we" that have painted them?

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ght=clear+tail There we go, thats the look I am looking for.

I wouldnt clear the tails anyway cause it honestly looks like ass. You can see straight into the tail lights and all you see is the bulb housing and the bulb. At least the Inspires have a clear lense. I say save up like 250 bucks and keep an eye out on ebay. It sure as hell beats paying what like $350 for a new stock one if you fuck yours up like everyone says. I just seriously doubt its worth the risk. And nothing would suck more than successfully completing your project and realizing that it looks like ass after all that time.

Damn, maybe I won't. Guess I'll just re-seal them so they don't get all cheap looking with condensation.

From what I understand it's just a matter of unscrewing it, taking it off the car (easy part). Then you have to heat the seals (oven/hair dryer/heat gun) and carefully pry apart. Put the new seal in and clamp them together. Someone suggested some silicone too I think, not sure, forgot to save the threads. Just search around for "clear" and "tail" and someone has a pretty lengthy post on it.
