Awesome!

Ummm...someone backed their truck into my car's front bumper when I was at the beach. No one left any notes or anything. Today, I got some estimates, ranges from $600-$750. Don't want to file a claim either because they said if I have another accident within 3 years, my premium will definitely go up even though they won't raise it this time.

That's it.

Dub, do it, it is amazingly easy, the hardest part is getting the shift gate off.

Just make sure you strip it all, even around the sides because you can see them, I still have a few spots left to do. Just use some paint stripper and you'll be all set.

The chrome looks really nice with all the other small chrome pieces in the car (window trim, door handles/locks, shift plate now)

And I don't think that orange was available stock on the second gen's, could be wrong though.

Mine didn't scratch

I wasn't planning on doing it today but I was in the basement and to my suprise there was a can of paint stripper so I put some paper towels on my desk in garge, poured some on it, and put the shiftplate in there face down, came back 15-20 minutes later and gently removed the small pieces that were left.

I got some paint stripper on my hands though and into a cut, that shit hurts.

Good job.. maybe i was just a klutz that day with my scraping. And yes, paint thinner + cuts = pain!

The trick is to let the product do the work, not the scraping. Most of mine more or less just fell off

I picked it up once in the middle, wiped a paper towel over it to get some of the stuff off, and then put it back in the stripper.

Thanks Mandy. I had old mats from when the car was new, but my dad never used rubber ones in the winter so although the carpets were all fine when I bought it from him, the mats were WRECKED. I priced them at the dealer when I first go it, they wanted $225!!! I waited a year and a half...Picked them up for $80 cash. The last set they had in stock!! HAHA!! YAY ME!!
