Changing Alternator

Wanted to know if I should remove the radiator and the battery before I start changing the alternator. I looks like I need more space, but the service manual just says to remove the bolts, rotate alternator counterclockwise then drop, disconnect the terminals and remove.

Anybody swapped one on a '98 3.2? Is it easy enough to do without making space by removing the radiator and battery?

Thanks
kp

Ok, so I installed the new alternator today. I went ahead and took out the radiator and the battery. The service guide is correct, you can do it without taking anything out. I like the fact that there is a pass through hole to get to the lower mounting bolt. All in all it was rather easy - hardest part is getting it pass the alternator bracket.

tip: the alternator bracket has 4 bolts securing it - remove the front one and two on the sides and you can pivot the alternator bracket up out of the way. The extra 1/8 -1/4" helps tremendously.

why'd you have to remove the bracket? you can just remove the alternator itself.
