Cool! Where did you get it from? Cost, if you don't mind me asking? Website? I like the whole idea of a carputer and might consider one down the road.

Nice...post pics after install! Thanks!

well mobo u keep eye open on ebay,., they run about 100-140$... the touchscreen there are two options... liliput (245$) or xenarc (425$) the quality on the xenarc is insane and it is much brighter so can be seen better in the sunlight... i went the cheap route cause im only gonna use it for gps and playing mp3s for now... maybe add in a ps2 later on with its AV in... i am having problems booting the laptop hd (pricewatch.com) and i have a slot loading slim DVD drive coming soon... gotta stop by home depot and pick up some plexiglass to build the case later on after the holidays.. for now i just want to make sure everything is working before i fab where to put everything...

and another thing... does anyone know where i can get or have an extra frame that goes around the stock hu??? i need to make a frame for the screen and i want to work on one outside the car during the winter so i can just drop it into the car in the spring???

I've seen a few people use those liliput screens for their carputer setups.

Yo man...just a lil advice...for something as pricey like that MoBo...Negative on the Plexiglass man...go with Lexan...its alot stronger and looks alot better...its a little more expensive but its worth it...cant wait to see the end result...i might have to jock ya on this one!

naw i have to wait till spring to put it in when it is warmer... so all the parts are still scattered in my basement... lolz...

the mobo is used so i really don't care if it gets screwed up... i wanna do plexiglass cause it is easier for me to cut but ill keep the lexan in mind...

jees, that is expensive...plus with a fanless system, that would get wayyyy too hot for a computer(especially with an intel processor). if i were to do this, i would just go with a micro atx motherboard and a custom case made with aluminum. for the heatsink, i would get a low profile server heatsink with a high rpm fan hooked up to a rheostat/fan controller(so i could turn it down after the ac kicks in or when its freezing outside. i would use my athlon xp 2000+ and probably under clock it(im getting a mobile 2600+ soon, overclocking++ ). idk about the power supply though, i still havent found anything that would have enough power and run off of 12v, so if anyone has a link, could you please share? well thats just my
