Car Security

Hey i was just wondering if you guys feel safe when you park your car. I was just thinkin about how easy it is to steal one of our cars. Although i have heard that it is hard to steal a TL b/c the steeing columns are hard to break. Are cars dont have immobilzers but i purrchased and aftermarket one. Has ne1 first gen been stolen?

I caught some guy trying to steal mine once...he was down in the drivers seat messin with some wires and he pulled out what looked to be the fuse box on the side panel...when the cops came they said that the guy was a pro...so maybe he knew some little trick, becuase he managed to get in without breaking the window...the guys never told the cops what he was trying to do but i thought it was kinda weird.

TooCoo: was it you who posted a picture of how the guy broke it? I remember someone posted a picture of the passenger door handle after someone broke in. The door handle was popped out and got access to inside cabin without breaking the window.

The best and probably a hassle..and cheapest way to prevent someone stealing your car would be to just take out the shortest spark plug wire whenever you leave your car.

Well... I've locked my keys in my car once and I got in within 5 minutes with only a slimjim. I'm decent with a slimjim though so maybe I could be considered a "pro" on the older Hondas/Acuras.

The newer ones use far more sophisticated anti-theft methods.

It wasn't that hard sadly. I wish we had an immobilizer in the ignition.

Hmm, someone should get around to pulling out some wiring and making a nice little hidden kill switch for the fuel pump or something, not going anywhere without gas
