how much would an axle cost for our gen TL's...are there 4 axles?? .. i dont know much about axles... so i was just curious.. i think i might need 1.. . anyone know how much they would cost? thanks!

 

i need new driver's axles. my mechanic said he would do $300 for parts and labor.

 

i called up some places.. they said that there arent any axles.... wut u can do is just REBUILD the ones y0u already have.... where i went.... the guy said... only $60 each to rebuild. that includes parts and labor.. i was like WOW.. daz a great price!

 

I just changed both of mine.

I went to Acura and they want 340 Each Axle and then 360 to install them both. That was over 1000, so I was like screw that. I went to this mechanic and he charged me 325 and that was for 2 new rebuilt axles and installation. I think I will take my car there more often should I have anything that tending too.

 

Are you guys talking about CV joints, or does the 1st gen have something different?

If so, we have a local place called "The CV Jount" that only does CV joints. I got a quote on my old Altima and it was like $80 per joint.

If you have a local place around that specializes in that sort of thing they might be able to offer better pricing.

 

I just got my 2 Front axles done...it cost me 220...so yea, just call around, a lot of people do advertise it and yea...u can get it on sale and shit....So just look around...dealerships kill u with labor so just go somewhere else...

 

how do you know if an axle is going bad???? what symptoms does it show.. or do you hear something?

 

when going bad it will make clicking noises when you make a turn
