I don't think we even have a cabin filter...? I couldn't find mine in the '96 2.5 TL.

I've heard that we don't have one.

Oneday there was a lot of pollen on my windsheild wiper area. I dusted it off, but when I turned on my A/C. I got a load of it in my car through the vents.

So I know I don't have one!

We don't have one. The RL's have one and the 99+ TL's have them as well.

Does anyone know what the little filter inside the stock intake is for? I was doing some work on my car and had to remove the intake and it had a little maxipad looking filter in the bottom left side. Anyone know what it's for?

There is a link to change your '99+ AC filter just dont' know how to insert it...no one here probably cares, because we all own 1st Gens.

That maxipad looking thing reduces the noise for the intake at certain RPM's. Without it, the car sounds a lot meaner and aggressive.

I think that maxipad thing is a sound dampener that worked in conjunction with the intake resonator.

The intake resonator is a big (it really is big) plastic box hidden under the airbox and taking up virtually all of the space behind your right bumper.

Yup, I complete removed it and now the car is nice and noisy when you push the pedal. Very smooth and quiet when you keep it gentle.

The fun is foot-activated

Exactly. It just absorbs the "wooshing" sounds that happen at certain RPM's when the butterfly valves in the intake open/close.
