Buying a 2.5XG

Hey. Heres the deal. My Saber 3.2 is due for its every-two-year-inspection. With repairs ( if any, like torn CV boots, steering boots, etc. ), its gonna cost me about
$3000.00 to get it back on the road for another 2 years. I just found a 1996 Saber 2.5XG ( UA2) with like 30,000 miles, full leather seats, sunroof, only 1 owner
( meaning the previous owner was the first owner).......for $2000.00!
So why should I spend 3 GRAND if I can get a "better" one for cheaper with inspection already done? What do yawl think? Input please.

p.s. It'll also help me with gas....now its $6.00 ~ $7.00 a gallon here in the LAND OF THE RISING GAS PRICE.

Nope. We cant do them ourselves....meaning we can do the repairs before taking it in for inspection, ( we still have to pay $2000.00 for inspection and paperwork) but the car will be thoroughly checked. First, the brake test. Put the car on a roller. (Give it gas and the wheels turn the rollers in the ground but the car itself is not moving.), then we step on the brakes and somehow itll measure the brake efficiency. Next is the e-brakes. We stay on the same roller but we engage the e-brakes. The roller will turn and again measure its efficiency.
Next is Speedometer check, on the roller again. Drive to 60kph and its gotta match their speed.
Next is headlight beam test. A machine comes out in front of the headlights and measures the angle, etc.
Next is the emmissions test . Same stick the rod in the tailpipe.
Next is the "SHAKER" test. Drive the car onto a platform. This platform will shudder side to side while the inspector is under the car watching ( for loose balljoints, suspension,etc.).
Then he will strike couple places with a rubber mallet to check for loose parts.
If all tests come out good, then we pass. If even 1 test fails, gotta go fix that problem and get just that checked.
Its bullshit process but thats how it is here....motorcycles too!

You know what? Those bastards at that shop selling the 2.5 Saber I wanted lied to me! They want $4000.00! The price of $2000.00 they now tell me doesnt include inspection.....I know its still a good price but I just cant fork that much out.
So I'll stick to mine now. Sorry I cant join the 2.5ers
