Both CV Boots blown, pos. same time..
WTF!!!!? My car was leaking coolant out of the resevoir cap and making a metal squeaking sound when idle, when I went to check under the car I saw that my CV boot was puking everywhere, looked on the other side and same damn thing. Can I drive on this? What would cause this? How hard to change them?! tHANKS, I'm flipping out over this....damn.

the reservoir cap or the radiator cap? Radiator cap is important...just get a new one. Probably cost you$20.
CV boots aren't too expensive if you can do it yourself. They'll run you a few hundred bucks for someone else to do it. If you don't pay attention to these boots, they can dry and crack, leaving the grease to escape and ruining your joints. The boot might be the cheap part depending on how long they've been dry.

Dont even bother just changing the rubber boots.
It may save you money to just do the rubber boots, but
it msyl still make a clicking noise. I had Midas do it for my car, just changing the boot. Those F***kers charged me $350 bucks just for that. Now it clicks like hell and it annoys me so much.
I finally decided this week to order the left axle for $298. I live in RI and its now cold. Why the hell does it have to happen now?
I have no choice but to change it myself so I know it will be done right.
I get the parts from
WWW.AcuraParts247.com

If the CV jts are not clicking, and boot has recently ruptured, you are probably better off to replace the boots, instead of replacing the axles w/ aftermarket axles. Aftermarket half-shaft axles are notoriously bad.
If you can remove the axles, take them to a CV jt repair shop and have them clean the CV jts, install grease, and new boots. It should not cost over $40 per axle to clean and replace the boots.
Metal squeaking sound and losing coolant usually means the water pump bearing and shaft seal are failing. Check water pump weep hole for coolant release. A very small amount is OK, but a leaking stream indicates bad pump. Coolant may be draining from the bottom of the timing belt cover. Water pump is usually replaced w/ timing belt maintenance. This is a $500-900 job, depending on whether you have a 2.5L or 3.2L engine, and who does the job.
good luck
