look for another transmission online. or maybe a Legend transmission will fit. a tranny wont be too expensive.

just get a new tranny and get it installed or DIY

Kris says it is real easy and just bolts right up. Takes 30 minutes.

Are you kidding me? You are more than welcome to try it on my car. If you can't do it within 30 minutes, you gotta buy me new suspension.

It'll take a DAY to do. Not 30 minutes Try quoting a 30 minute labor job to a service department.

And $5,500 is just ridiculous. Get a used 1996 - 2004 RL transmission if you cant find a proper 3.2 TL tranny.

Damn! $5500! Imo, I'd used that towards a 2004 TL.
At 109,000 miles, its also time to change other parts like the timing belt, water pump, alternator, radiator hoses/tubes. Also, the car might already have some rust. 04 does look great. good luck.

LOL sorry guys, just going from what Kris (fsttyms1) said in a thread. Maybe it was longer than that and I know it was talking about a 2G and not 1G TL. I do have no idea what I'm talking about, but never claimed to know or said that I had done it myself.

Don't get your panties in a bunch.

To change 2,5TL or Vigs tranny you need to do lot of unpleasand things like: lightly up the engine and unscrew some bolts (if I remember right all amount of bolts is 21) which is really hard to get. I did it twise, that is really sucks, takes one-two days if you have pit or lifter.

My 98 3.2's tranny failed at 150k miles. It cost me $3300 to have it rebuilt. I have since put about 96k miles on that tranny, no problems. $5500 seems a bit high

If I were to rebuild, Dr. Evil, here I come! That and/or a Level10 torque converter. I might have to soon, .
