Bad O2 sensor
Bad O2 sensor
I just found out I have a bad O2 sensor. I have been reading through the forum that the dealer may cover it, but I've been reading some confilicting posts. I have a 98 2.5TL. How can I find out for sure if its covered or not without calling the dealership. I don't trust them.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Ill tell you right now that you arent covered. I have had my O2 sensor go out whether my primary or secondary, forget which one, and I wasnt covered. The extended emissions warranty only covers 96 and 97 TLs both 2.5 and 3.2. I think that there is a link to the service bulletin here somewhere. Everytime I go to the dealer to get serviced they check for bulletins, and there isnt one for us 98's on the emissions thing. My bro has a 97 and his O2 sensor goes out like every 6 months and he gets a new one free every time!
But yeah bro we are SOL. My other (which ever one wasnt bad last time) O2 sensor needs to get replaced too.

I had a bad secondary and it cost me like $400 just for parts.
What I don't understand is why the '98 is different than the '97 and '96 when it comes to service bulletins and recalls. They are the same damn car and they made no changes to the O2 sensors or manifolds, so why aren't us '98ers covered?!?
