Auto Insurance costs
What do you pay each month to insure your TL? I haven't insured mine yet since I just re-purchased it, but I remeber it being terrible. At the time, I was 20, and had at least one ticket, and my payment was nearly $100 per month for the most basic plan. Insurance on my 06 TL was less than $50 for full coverage, now I pay $53 for my '13 Accord Sport (leased) and $17 for my 73 Mercedes.
What do you pay?

Why do you want to play this game?
every one's insurance rate is based off their own credit history, driving history, location, and what car they have.
so, you'll have older folks paying less than you are, and you'll have younger kats paying more than you.
insurance rates is not something you can compare, because its ALL DIFFERENT.
its not something you can compare unless the person you are comparing to has the same coverage, same car, same credit history, same driving history as you.
which no one has.

Sounds like I may have struck a sore spot?
I was just curious if the TL seemed more expensive to insure compared to other cars you might own. I wasn't trying to start a contest.

I wouldn't characterize it as a sore spot; more a fact. The Acura is the least expensive to insure of the four cars we own. How much we actually pay would be pointless as a comparison as justnpace pointed out. I pay considerably less the you do but I'm almost three times your age.

also, the range of the ages of the 1st gen TL will range quite wildly, like we so happened to find out with HP11.
so, the results will be skewed and will have no correlation with anything.
if you graphed it, it would look like this:

Justin is right....include AGE and marital status in the equation...
everyone has different rates...just remember these rates can be negotiated....when I got married to the wifey, I moved from GEICO to Statefarm only because the agent was awesome to work with....
Statefarm was $40 more every month than GEICO and I told him, that if he meets/beats the price, I will definitely move to SF....he emailed me the "new" quote and it was $40 less without touching my ded/coverages....I moved to SF and have been happy since....
the only was is to cross shop....check the rates for different companies and see who is lower....talk to your insurance guy and see what they can do about it....
I email my agent every 6-8 months and ask him to adjust my rates (they go down by couple bucks every 6 months) since the car is getting older and hence is not worth what it was 6-8 months back....I also get an online quote from couple companies every couple months just to make sure am getting the best rate....
the only issue with that is, they spam your address/email....hence I started giving my neighbors address and created an email address for insurance companies spam email....

Sold it a few months ago when I leased the Accord. I was starting to lose trust in it, and some of the electrical gizmos were cutting out. I do miss the power though

I just paid StateFarm $337.26 for insurance on my '98 TL for the next six months. I'm a 25 year old female and was in an accident last November. The bill says my total discounts were $6.30. It did nothing for me when I had that accident.

I think it depends in the area you live in, the accident rate, your history, your age, tickets and lots of other things...
one thing I do is to go to EVERY insurance agency website and get a quote with the same deductibles...once I get the quote, I call my insurance agency/agent and tell them the deal am getting...so its either them giving me a better rate or waving me good bye....
we pay 400 for 6 months for my 2005 TL and the wifes 2003 Lexus with 500 ded on comp and collision and full coverage including road side assistance and rental car...for the same cars when we were planning to move to NY/NJ, we got a quote for 1250 for 6 months...
shop around
